I was wondering what other options people have used for timing cover seals?
I have used black rtv before if the original was to brittle to save. Cut the tip to my likings and put a nice bead around the groove. Let it dry for a day and then installed. Worked pretty decent.

I’d like to also hear if anyone has a better/nicer solution.

I like the tubing idea. It compresses nicely, and would have a very consistent thickness, unlike using only rtv. It's also pretty cheap, as things go. You could get a few sizes to try and pick the best one. The cover is really just to keep dust and dirt out, so I believe the seal doesn't have to be extremely tight. Just no gaps.
