so i believe that it is my alternator that is the problem i need help for ideas what to look for.
Here's what's going on.
Nothing works electronically in my car when it is turned off. Seat belts wont move, Lights wont work, locks wont work, and radio/clock resets itself when the car is turned off. When the car is on and I am driving everything seems to work fine, Until the battery starts running out of juice. When the battery gets low on power, the lights dim and the car starts to sputter. I have to charge it, so i can get around to work and errands.
I've replaced the battery because i had an old one from the 90's. The problem continued to occur so I am trying to be careful so i don't ruin this battery. I have looked at most of the fuse's but they are all fine. I am about to test the alternator and i will keep update's on what has/will happen.
other ideas that i have thought the problem might be.
  • Fuses
  • electrical connections
  • alternator
If you have an idea what to look for or to check. Please tell me and help me out with this.
Either msg on here or txt me for i will not be by a computer soon.
Thanks!

You get power from two places, the battery and the alternator. The alternator should power everything while the car is running, but the battery can do the same thing until it dies if the alternator isn't working. When the car is off then the battery is your only source of power. With your car ignition in the on position, but the car turned off and your battery charged, everything should work. If it doesn't then you have more issues. If it does, but your battery dies after being driven for a period of time then the alternator isn't doing it's job. You can test it yourself or just take it to autozone or one of those places. If it's bad you can pickup a new one right there. I don't remember the cost, but it's pretty easy to replace.
