just wanted to say that today was a wonderful, after leaving the US on March 8th for Kuwait to do the whole "iraqi freedom" bit, im finally back home in Yuma,AZ. It was my pleasure to not kill a single person and to chill out on a very nice base over there for 4 months and hide in a bunker for a week from scuds, until we ####ed em up so much that there were no more scuds!!!! my car started right up when i got home, runs like a charm. Just a great day!!!!! too bad my damn maf translator wasn't here waiting for me oh well, hopefully soon. peace

I might eventually do some service in Iraq, a year from now when i get back from BT/AIT I'm gonna be a fully qualified MP, in the 838th MP Company in the OANG. some of our sister units are already over there or awaiting deployment. My unit is the Most deployed in the OANG so i might end up over there. Whats the country like?

well. its 120+ degrees 5 days a week. the other 2 days its 119. but the base i was on was nice. had 3 chow halls that were open 21 hours a day, a pool, a rec center, gym, library. pretty much besides Doha headquarters, its the nicest base in kuwait. well gotta go work on the ride. change oil, plugs, and put in this damn egt gauge i just spent 130 bucks on. later and its a pleasure serving. I mean i had it so rough out there right...pool and all : ) later everyone

Grrr... I got to Kuwait in early Feb. Went into Iraq the day we breached the berm, been to Basrah, Al Kut, An Numinaya, Ad Diwaniya, Baghdad, Tikrit, and now I'm in Babylon. I'll be in Iraq for aprox. 45 more days. You definitly had it 10000000 times better than me... 1 month in a Mopp Suit... Insane Sandstorms... Mortors... RPGs... Shoulda joined the Air Force.

air force? im in the marines dog. Just i chose a job that doesn't put my in the cross hairs ya know. I'm a Air Traffic Control Radar Electronics Technician. So that means im at the airports. I was at Al Jaber if you know where that is. Nice place man, what do u do exactly. Oh and im a lcpl too. cutting score for my mos is like 1760 so we don't get promoted to quick ya know

Cool congrats on coming home safe and to a DSM that runs. My good friend is at the same base you are, He wasn't sent out to Iraq. He had to be sent out for office traing or somthing. Im trying to remember what its called. umm prep school thats it. From what he says i guess its a big base His last name is Garlit.

Welcome home. I've been stationed here in Jacksonville, NC for 3yrs. Non-deployable unfortunetly but the rest of my squadron left in Jan and is coming back next month. I'm a Lcpl too and know all about high ass cutting scores..........

haha, im sure someone was happy as hell to get skoal in the mail. i don't dip but we still got tons of care packages out there with handy random stuff. thanx everything if any of you sent stuff. and ya, i think it woulda been cool to atleast kill one u know. i mean how many of my friends at home can say they killed someone legally u know. i mean, im glad i never had to shoot anyone or get shot at, and i know its kinda bad to wanna kill sumone, but i mean, it still kinda woulda been sorta cool in its own way. Instead i tried my hardest to lower their fly and mosquito population. i killed a good 200, but i barely taped their population. they got a lot of bugs. and these things called camel spiders. they are ugly and mean looking, i killed lots of them too, and put 1 in a bucket with 2 scorpions and 2 geckos. the spider and one scorpion died, the geckos were too quick for em. anyway im typing a lot. im out later
