Air conditionning prob????

I just recently bought a 90 Laser N/T and the Air conditionning don't work. So now that summer is coming it would a good thing to make it works,the thing is that i dont know whats wrong. Only thing i can tell you is when i push the snow flake button the light dont turn on. Is there anything i should check to see whats the problem. Could it be the compressor, condesator, or something else???But one thing sure , the heater does work. some help would be appreciated. thanks

if the light doesn't come on it could be a bad switch or something. might be simplier than you think...

Ok thanks , im gonna look behind the dash dash to see if the switch is hooked up correctly. thanks for the tips. anyone else opinion is welcomed , thanks
