National Speed shop in wilmington, NC is having a dyno day and I need some help representing dsm's. I just moved to wilmington but I have only seen 1 dsm here that has any performance to it. My car is not that special I'll probally be running a 50 trim and maybe 100 shot if I feel like pushing my engine. It is going to be on the 5th of july and if you need directions I can try and find some. I still don't know the area great yet. Just in case your have a military ID you can get 50 percent of the dyno pulls. That is why I rushing to get my car ready for the dyno. I have two IDs wonder if I get twice as much off? Oh yea all wheel dyno :rocks: But I am not endorsing the shop because I just found out about them the look good though. But tommorow I going to set up an appointment for the to install a lc-1 on my eclipse. If they can manage to hook that up and calibrate with my hacked wiring harness, maf translator and dsmlink then I would then recommend them. I can't talk trash to people if I am the only dsm there, well I could but it wouldn't be as fun.

Go DSM:dsm:

I wish I knew about this sooner.

Now I have to put the head back on and try to find some wheels and tires to borrow before then. Oh, and tune it.

1992awdlaser, I hope that your still able to make it.

Meklo_4g63t, I'm not sure the roads comming from myrtle but the address is
6779 gordon road
wilmington, nc 28411
If you can get on 17 it turns into market st and goes past gordon road. maybe mapquest it?

If only my talon wasn't so slow I'd come . And as far as dsm's go here in Wilmington most are just rice from what I've seen, CF hood and body kits. And when give them the thumbs up they just look at me like

I have only seen a few dsms here but most look and sound stock. When I moved here I was hoping the would be more of a car scene here. The first day I was in wilmington a scion tried to race me but I was loaded down with all my stuff to move in to my apartment. I didn't race him which is good because a few miles later I was stranded with a broken eclipse again. That why I need more dsm people so I can call them when I brake down.:sneaky:

There is a car "scene" but its all ricers. Every other Tuesday or Thursday(can't remember which) there's a "car meet" in the Kmart parking lot on college road. I went once and it was mostly ricers, theres a few nice cars that grace it every now and then. There is also coastal plains raceway(1/4 mile) in Jacksonville, never been to it but hear it isn't bad. As for calling people up, don't look to me I'm pretty much a noob at cars still.

I might show up there one day just to meet some folks. But I am going to avoid costal plains for a while. last time I ran there I ended up with a 25 second time slip and 16 bent valves. If you need any help with your car or an extra pair of hands you can pm me and I try and help you out.

Here is some information from another forum about the event.

Wilmington actually has a great DSM presence, there have been quite a few record setting cars come out of this area. Plenty of 9, 10, and 11 second cars are here.

It's $37.50 for 3 pulls on the dyno (regular price is $75.00)
That includes an A/F readout and of course a print out of your best pull
AWD vehicles are NOT charged extra for dyno pulls :)

We're going to have some nice prizes for the raffle/giveaway, most of which are being donated by local businesses.

Here's a list of a few things we've got to give away so far:
2 $100 gift certificates to Carolina Tint
In-dash GPS Navigation (from Go Auto Sound)
$100 gift certificate to Lucky Seven Tattoo
Hooters merchandise
100 National Speed T-shirts

We'll also be selling special edition National Speed/Wounded Warrior t-shirts to benefit the "Wounded Warrior Project."

I'll keep the thread update with more info as more things are donated.

Thanks, hope to see some of you here!
