ok so i bought a 98'gst shell found out it didnt come with a ecu so i got one from a 96' gst spyder both are 5 speeds. so my ? is will it work for me and since the other car was a convertible and mine isnt will the sunroof still work when i put everything back together?

The ECU has nothing to do with the sunroof or the rag top of the spyder. I know that people put 95 ECU's in 2G's because of it beening an EPROM. You should be just fine to run that ECU in your 98.

95 and 96 used a CAS with a inverted signal, so the ECU expects an inverted signal.

Mismatched ECU and CAS symptoms can range from Random Misfire Codes(nuisance) to Low RPM Engine Vibrations and Knock(car undrivable).

Its hard to tell which symptoms will occur until you try it. But 95-96 ECUs tend to act better then 98-99 ECUs when mismatched.

1Gs, 97-99 used "normal" CAS signal.

95-96 used an "inverted" CAS signal.

Since you said the 98 is a shell(no motor?), I'm unsure which CAS and Crank Trigger you will be using.
