I need to clear this up, I need to replace my 99gsx tranfercase, will any 95-99 work, or only 97-99, and auto or manual matter. I search and came up with one said no and other said yes??
thanks

I went to Norco Mitsubishi's site and they call out seperate transfer cases for auto and manual and the description is for years 97-99.

So going by that I would say you need one from a 97-99 that matches the type of transmission you have.

yea, the 97-99 manual transfer cases differ from the 95-96 Manual Transfer cases.

According to a message I got from Shep there is no way to differentiate from the outside casing on which year it is; so you either need to trust the seller that its a 97-99 Transfercase, or pull off the side cover and count.

22/24 is 90-96
27/29 is 97 up

I trusted the seller when i bought a 97-99 Transfercase ( was for a 99GSX tranny ) , and I found out the hard way he lied to me. My center diff lasted all of 200 miles and 6 days before blowing up...so I'd verify by pulling it apart to be safe if you are the least bit unsure.

I have no idea what the going used prices for a transfer case are. But a new one from a dealer will set you back about $640.

The real decision on whether or not that is a good deal comes down to how hard it is for you to find another one of the same price or cheaper.
