Started my talon rebuild in February 2021 and have slowly worked on it over the past year. Original plan was to rebuild the motor and get it back on the road but plans have dramatically changed since then. As of right now, I've repainted the entire engine compartment, removed the entire interior and will soon be bringing my engine to a machinist for its rebuild. More to come in the near future as I'm trying to have this done by late Spring/early Summer.

Getting ready to bring the block and head to the machine shop this week. Just purchased a OEM front cover and a GSC race balance shaft from STM Tuned. Also ordered Megan Racing coilovers.

The work and grind continues... As I wait for the new parts from STM Tuned, I decided to tear into the intake manifolds to start the cleaning process. I plan on polishing/painting the intake manifold and repainting the intake elbow. I'm going to have the exhaust manifold and O2 housing sand blasted and will paint them black. Throttle body needs a lot of elbow grease to clean up the butterfly valve.

Tore apart the rest of the old motor to get an idea of all of the internal damage done to it. Safe to say piston #3 is done for...:p. Started to prep the new block to bring to the machinist.:hellyeah:

The real question is: Is the crank shaft worth saving? Should I keep it as a spare?

Front suspension is starting to look nice!

what new: coilovers, wheel bearings, upper and lower control arms, sway bar links, and outside tie-rods. I do have new brake calibers and rotors. And I still need to purchase the ABS sensors which were damaged when I tried to remove them from the knuckle.

Block and head machining have been delayed... watched too many Jafromobile videos and wanted to do some of the oil mods he had done for his GSX. I completed the teardrop mod on the head and I started smoothing out the 2 oil galleys on the block.

I decided to tear down the oil filter housing and turbo to clean and inspect the internal components. Oil filter housing looks good, (no metal shaving inside). The turbo had a tiny amount of play but otherwise looked good. The person who installed the HX35 used a brass compression fitting that was the wrong thread size for the oil feed (re-tapped the treads).
