I'm Chris, this is my DSM run through....

I started with a 97 GST Spyder 5-spd, with 114k on the clock.

I was clean to the untrained eye. But there was frame damage from 4 differnet wrecks. Also, after a farther exam, had a 1g NT 7 bolt...

After a year of driving it as it was, I started a build of sorts.

I got an BE316G, Full 3in turboback, evo 8 inj, maf, evo 3 IM, Evo 9 fp, Tokico AWD springs/struts, Prothane total kit, boost, af, oil press gauges, SAFC2, Supra SMIC.

This setup only made it around the block before I realized I made a few mistakes, SMIC and SAFC2 mostly.

Picked up an Evo 8 ecu for $50 from a local junkyard, and an Ebay FMIC kit for $30 from a local. Also, picked up an IC sprayer (complete waste of everything...)

After this we got it running for about 5 months. At this point I had ride height issues that were unfix able. Frame damage. I had a shop look at it on the frame machine, it was so bent they told me to just buy another. So I did.

This is were the 97 GST Spyder turns into the 96 GST Spyder...

I found a local selling a 96 GST Spyder with 94k on it. Same color, rims, exhaust!

It had a 6bolt with a blown headgasket. It sat for over 3 years. I scored it for $400. Full car with all parts plus some!

Best part of this car, my good friend was the original owner of it. It was his shop car, then he sold it, then bought it back, then sold it again. Then I got it and he worked on it again!

But after sitting for so long it needed some work, badly..

ok, as far as your 97, was there anything wrong with it when you drove it? wearing out tires like crazy? just asking because if you didn't feel anything wrong with it i would've just kept it so i wouldn't go thru the trouble your going thru now

Haha, that was to see if the car would start after the safc install. It worked for that test.

The doors did close/align right. Neither did the top. Also, the car could not be full aligned, Tweaked all over.
