hmmmm.... Any thoughts on these 2?
-1995 Eagle Talon TSI AWD for 2k. 144k miles. rebuilt engine that is in the car, just needs things hooked back up in the engine bay... cons: rebuilt title. automatic trans. not sure if there are misc. things wrong. interior needs cleaned up.
-1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST for 1.5k. 130k miles. decent condition. manual trans. will come with the stock wheels, stock hood, and stock hatch. cons: claims to have a burnt valve. had a ticking noise in the engine and took it to a mechanic who apparently thought the same thing. so will probably rebuild the top end. thankfully doesnt seem very expensive to do myself. not sure if anything else is wrong.
i give zero shits about drag times between the two and which is faster than the other. i plan on doing a lot of visual mods and do not want to have to do a lot of engine crap or dump money into it just to have it run. any thoughts/suggestions? in the pics the green car with the big wing is the 95 Talon TSI AWD. the black looking car with the custom hood is the 98 Eclipse GST (the guy will only include the hood if i pay an extra $500). i would be ALL OVER the TSI AWD if it was a manual... also, iv read that 95-96 has had issues with the ECU and other stupid crap, which was fixed in the later years for the 2g.

Thank you for any help and input!

It's hard to say with the jumbled mess of photos that you uploaded. I can't decipher which car is which...

Either way it looks like you're buying into someone else's mess. If you're looking to have something inexpensive to maintain and daily.. you're looking at the wrong platform.

Ah sorry, I uploaded the pictures in order.. Must have jumbled in upload... The 98 gst has the blue engine and is the black car. The 95 talon tsi is the green one with the iffy looking engine (but the internals are supposed to be new) and the stock seats and iffy door panels and auto tranny

get them both.
mix and match till you have one good car and a bunch of spare parts.

If you can, both isn't a bad option if you have the time, money and knowledge to sort one good car out of them.

Otherwise I'd get the gsx, and that's coming from a die-hard manual guy. But since you're doing mostly visual stuff, GST, though the gsx does have that sweet wing and undersized F&F graphic.
