After spending a long time on here reading a lot of great information, I thought I would post up my build from the beginning. I have been around the Mitsu/DSM scene since 1998. My first car was a Evo 2 imported from Japan.Long story short, I ended up running the car to a best time [email protected] mph in full street trim and on radial's. I even dabbled in an auto set up in 2003 running [email protected] I have been around the block with these things etc.

Fast forward to 2010, the old car was sold as a roller and I managed to get my hands on a 1995 mitsubishi lancer GSR.If you guys aren't familiar with these things, from factory they came with a 1.8 4g93 turbo awd setup. So the first thing was to strip it down to a bare shell and start again. The whole purpose of this exersize was to make a evo3 clone, as here in Australia you cant import one unless they are a personal import.

The car was stripped down to a bare shell and had a bare metal re spray in yellow, funny enough it only took 20 or so hours to strip the car down ready for paint. The re assembly was alot longer around 40 hours.

I've seen your car in a magazine a long, long time ago and i'm sure I still have that magazine somewhere. Your car was running a GT35R in the article. Great to see you on DSMTUNERS. Looking forward to your build.

Thanks, That was my old evo2, so many great memories:D

So after the interior was put back in, I put my old 9 second setup back in the car. This was sitting on a pallett in my shed at home for 2 years:)
The old set up was as follows

7bolt built 2.4
Eagle rods
JE Pistons
Eagle Crank
ARP fasteners
ported evo3 cylinder head
Cams are a custom grind and are well over 300 duration
oversize valves, valve springs and AEM cam gears etc.
GT35R turbo 1.06 rear
steampipe exhaust manifold
HKS 60mm wastegate
3.5 inch exhaust from turbo
3.5 inch cat, resinator and 3.5 inch muffler(thats a full exhaust system)
Hypertune inlet plennum
indy blue injectors 1600cc
walbro in tank pump feeding
2 044 pumps and a surge tank under the car.
Custom twin plate clutch
Shep racing transfer case
Sandard GSR gearbox(dont know for how much longer that will last LOL
Haltech E11V2 plug in
MSD DIS 4 ignition with bosch motorsport coils
EVO 3 wheels and brakes
KYB chocks with king springs.
I think thats about it
It made 670hp 4wheels on a dyno dynamics dyno 32psi E85

I had this setup in my car for a couple of years and was nuts on the street, on a slow launch 1.8 60" I ran a 10.1@148, driven to the track and driven home.I ended up selling the engine to a friend who put it in a RWD chassis.I decided on doing a 2.4 de stroked to a 2.1 build. The new specs now are
Knife Edged Manley Crank
GRP Alloy rods
JE 10.5:1 Comp
CNC Ported Evo3 head, 1mm o/s valves etc.
E85 same turbo and manifolds etc.
After reading a heap on auto's here I decided to bite the bullett and build an auto.

A couple more pics, I alsp put a set of AP Racing front brakes on the car as it was not the greatest thing on the street.

The auto set up is a built auto with a forced four shift box wired to an EVO 7 GTA steering wheel. On 22 psi it made 400whp.I took it to the track and ran a 14.8@128 with a 2.9 60".So a 50 shot was needed to get it off the line, after fitting a nitrous kit, I headed out to the track, stalled it up and ran a 10.8@128 with a 1.6 60' running 225/45R17 nankang tyres.
Now here in Australia, Nitrous is illegal on the street so its a pain, also the government have introduced new rules and if you are defected more than once, the police can impound your car and on the 3rd offence it gets crushed. So the decision was made to remove the engine and auto setup out of the car and put that in a dedicated FWD drag Lancer(thats another build Journal)

This is a in car vid of my 10.8 run

So thanks to the DSM Tuners community, I have decided to join the 16G club :).
New specs will be 2.0 7bolt evo3 motor with
Je Pistons 9.0:1
Manley Rods
Stock crank
Ported evo3 head
Evo3 intake Evo3 throttle body
1mm o/s valves
272/264 cams
the usual arp goodies
stock auto out of a JDM RVR, stock converter.
big 16G turbo
E85
So it will look like a stock evo3 engine bay but should hopefuly run a low 11/high 10.
The car weighs 3000lbs with me in it too.
Im at the stage of engine assembly
