Before everyone starts flaming this with, y u no turbo. Let me give you some back story.

I am 31 years old and have owned DSMs for a majority of my driving life.

History of cars i have ever owned.
1992 Plymouth Colt Vista (6 bolt 4g64 Motor)
1998 Eclipse GSX
1991 Plymouth Laser Non turbo Automatic (Old DD)
1997 Eagle Talon TSI AWD (Currently my fun car)

The transmission died on my 1991 laser about 2 years ago. The Trans had 225,000 miles on it. But the motor in that car only has about 60k miles on it. The motor is a 6-bolt non turbo bottom end with a 2g turbo head.

The most recent purchase was a 1992 Plymouth Laser RS AWD. No transmission or engine for super cheap.

I have always wanted a super reliable AWD DSM DD car. To accomplish this goal I will use the motor from my 91 Laser and drop it into the shell. I am also going to buy pretty much all new parts for this car.

Parts I have received for this project so far.

True, why not? Besides, be good for winter driving since you really don't want a turbo to kick in under adverse road conditions.

Besides, 135HP from an NT motor is really strong enough, but might be a bit underpowered due to a larger and heavier D-22 AWD chassis whereas the FWD vehicles uses a 200 lb lighter D-21 chassis...but for DD driving, you should be okey.

Looks like it'll be a good dd project. Since you bought new rotors/calipers, why didn't you upgrade to something larger?

I went with the 1gb 2 piston calipers, that is more than good enough for a dd. The raybestos rebuilt calipers went for $50 a side.

Left Caliper Raybestos FRC10295 $50.53
Right Caliper Raybestos FRC10296 $48.55

Update....

AWD Manual transmission is in.

Great work so far man, I also though of do that with my 1gb talon. but since I'd never felt the power of boost yet I ditched my n/t engine.
You'll definitely need to get some 0-60 times for us haha :thumb:

Hah, 0-60 will be like minutes.

If I already didn't have my 2G AWD Turbo, I wouldn't be doing this.

Updates

Timing / water pump done.
