The Beginning
Okay so, I bought the car about 3 years ago for $1800 with a turbo timer and a shitty 30-something mm boost guage and the rest was stock. The owner prior to the seller snapped the t-belt (big surprise) and damaged the head pretty bad so this guy put a head on it and contacted me VIA a "wanted" add I had posted on the local classifieds. (I had a '92 N/A Talon at the time). I was instantly in love with the AWD, I remember it felt so fast at the time haha!
Here she is when I first bought her:
I felt like a king driving this car around I would always wake up extra early and cruise it around before I had to be at school.
Wasn't long before I started to notice some blue smoke, sure enough I had friends there to rip on me about it... I think that's when I joined tuners and narrowed my problem down to 1 of 3 things: Turbo, Rings, or Valve seals.
Me, being young at the time decided that the turbo was blown and bought one of those Evo 3 16g "GT" turbos from extreme psi. (everyone insisted that I don't get an ebay turbo.) Along with an ebay manifold. Later I found out that the turbo was the same as the ebay turbos. Sure enough, it kept on smoking so I sold my 14b and bought valve seals.
Pics with the turbo:
Once again I felt like a boss, popping my hood every chance I could get haha.
I found some rims i liked on the classifieds for a decent price with rubber so I picked them up.
I think they were just some knockoff ebay wheels... Here they are on the car:
After the wheels I figured it was time to try and start raising the boost to make some power sooo.... Rather than getting a full exhaust or even a FMIC/intake I decided to do fuel mods... I don't know why, I think it seemed alot cheaper at the time instead of dropping $700 on a TBE or $500+ on a IC setup. Besides, I already had my mind set on upping the boost haha.
I bought some PTE 680cc injectors locally, aswell as a SAFC 2 that my buddy sold to me for $100(yay for good deals), a wally 255, MTX-L wideband, glowshift boost gauge, and a logger from 1glink.com

Raised the boost, learned how to piggyback tune, and made some more power. All in all, I was pretty happy at this point.
I also painted the valve cover red with black lettering, you'll see it lots down there. vvv
I drove it around like this for a while then the winter came. Keep in mind, this is just around the time the Ken Block youtube videos were trending... You've probably already guessed what happened . Got too cocky and smoked a curb sideways pretty damn hard...
Bent the drivers side of the subframe pretty good.
I bent that out the best that I could and a couple weeks later the tranny went on me. (Had problems since I bought it) So she was parked for the rest of the winter.... And I bought this '85 Celica GT-s for the meantime.(SO MUCH FUN)

This is when I started to live on dsmtuners and I really started wanting to put some money into this thing.
This is just within the first year of owning my dsm! I will update the above with more pics and will continue my story below when the time is available.
Check out my current mod list to get an idea of the cars transformation over these 3 years!
