first of im happy to join this forum thanks to a buddy of my that let me know about the site! said it was verry helpful and thank god ### i need all the help.!

o.k i have a 4g63t jdm swap with about 56,000 miles know just bought it like a month ago was running fiind till

first issue was the clutch had to much play and the clutch pedal is adjust all the way so i blead the slave cylinder and it gave me like one much inch my pedal is o.k now that was like 2 weeks ago but now this is the issue

well i went to the track about 3 weeks ago and car was running find didnt run it hard beat on it or anything before i went to the track so i go to the track and when i red line it from first going into second gear would be really really rough it would grind i had to shift it twice for me to get it into second gear so i blamed it on my self saying oh i just need to learnd how to drive it ### its not no honda so i went to the track couple of nights maybe like 3 and its been getting worse and i know its not me.

so like 3 days ago this guy on a bike says yo you wanna race and im like naw i dont wanna get a ticket so light turns green freaking i hate the temptation so i gave in and i took of but this time wen i almost red line i shift to second and it goes and the way back like you cant feel it goin in to gear so when i let go of the clutch thinking its in gear it will grind it does that all the time like if i pass 20mph on first gear and shift to second it like wont ingage like i will let go of the clutch and it will grind so i have to shift to 3

but when i drive normal like regular people going the speed limit it does not grind or anything but shifting to third and forth and fith its a little hard now but it wont grind

when i got the car like 2 months ago it shifted like butter i called the old owner of the car hes madd cool hes the one that told me about this website hope he sees my thread and he said the clutch was not worn out when he did the swap so i dont know was going on

what i do know is that the shift linkage on thop of the tranny looks good and when i move the boot of the stick shift eveything looks tight and i dont know wsa going on i need to know so if i need to pull the tanny out i have to do it tomorrow ### im off tomorow

thanks man what kind of syncors should i get i have no idea of how to rebuilt transmissions all i know how to do is change the clutch thats it
 
Well since your asking what kinda of syncros to get I recommend finding a tranny shop that will deal with mitsu trannys. Call around and compare prices! Orlando should have many to choose from!
 
LOL yea i just went to ttp-engineer lancer evolution speacialist
they told be they will rebiult my tranny all the syncros and some other things in it for 900 thats me taking it of the car but when i explain the problem to him he didnt say it was the syncros he said something to do with the clutch or cable was but i check the cables on top of the tranny and by the stick shift and everything look tight so tonight im going to the orlando car meet and ima ask around and see..
the guy i went to see was kind of bussy so i have to call him at a better time
 
No matter who you have rebuild the tranny, unless you go with one of the 'BIG' names for a race transmission, expect problems again. Redline shifts on a stock (even a brand new) transmission will destroy your synchro's in a short period of time. I'm not trying to be a jerk here but, learn to shift or spend the money for a transmission designed for racing with heavier duty components. It's possible to run 4-500awhp through a stock tranny but those guys KNOW how to shift and know the limitations of the tranny. Look around and see what the drag racers run.
 
i only had the car for about 2 months and even when i first got it it was grinding first gear im new to the dsm game on i come from the honda game and i used to redline the crap out of the and those tranny would hold really good but at the same time i was getting to now the car like were the limits and all and it kept on getting worse and to tell you the truth i was getting to know the car like i said but look were it got me buts its true what ## saying and i totally agree with you

well these people speacialize in mitsubishi so i thought it would be a great idea on the other hand i could do it myself and keep 900 in my pocket but i dont think that a great idea but im thinking of it ### i wanna learn but im a little scare
 
o.k was up folks these is the deal hopefully this is was going on

well i work next to a tranny shop i work at tuffys so the guys at work just told me to go ask the best guy that they had the only guy that bother to look at my car and not go by of what i just said only so he goes and drives my car for about 15mints come back gets out the car and says the syncro in second gear gave up and im like ok well i was planing to do it my self and learn anyways he tells me to pop the hood and i did tell me to get inside the car so he can see what going on with the shift linkage and the shift cables so whats going on is that my shift cable its bent!!!!!!! and the boot that goes around it was broken so the metal little tube that goes around the shift linkage was not holding it in place to whats going on its that the cable its bent so it basacally acts like the syncro is going bad

so he tells me that he is so positive that that is the issue so thank god hopefully that safes me from doing my syncros the cable cost me 175 at the dealer no one else carries it is thir a website or websites were i can look for the shift cable

and thanks for everyone looking out and helpin me hopefully that fixs the problem as soon as i get the cable i will let you guys know
 
Jeebus, throw some punctuation in there! If I got the gist of what you're saying, the shifter cable is bent and you don't think it's the syncros anymore. It's possible. Just so you know though, the 2nd gear synchros are known to be weak in these cars but do as you will.

1. sorry for the miss spelling i cant spell for crap im sorry wish i would of payed attetion in class LOL
2. fixed the problem the problem was the cable the issue was it that almost by the shirft linkage theirs this metal tube and the shift cable goes inside of it but the metal tube broke not the tube it self but by the boot so it was not connected so what was going on is that the cable everytime i would shift it would go to the side a little bit so the fater i shift the more the cable will go to the side of the tube and not trough the tube
get it LOL anywho problem fixed thanks alot everyone that try to help

i have a 1992 plymouth laser rs 2.0turbo 5speed awd and all my gears shift fine but 1st i have to stiff arm 1st ans if i start to let out of the cluch to fast it will grind like no mans land i have checked the shift cables and adjusted them and its still the same anyone have a fix thanks john
