Its the number of bolts that hold the flyweel on. early 1g's are MOSTLY (though not all i hear...) 6 bolt while later 1g's and 2g's are 7 bolt.

Also, some people seem to think that a 6-bolt crankwalks less than a 7.....however i reserve opinion on this since i actually have never seen any concrete numbers on CW in general, no less on its commonality betwen motor versions.

Is that swap only for Turbo motors? because i've heard the 420a doesn't or..VERY rarely suffers from Crankwalk..so what would be the point? and if it's only for turbo models..I thought that the 1g produce less horsepower, so is the swap just to be alittle more reliable?

The 1g does not produce less horsepower. They are just about the exact same. Some will say that the 6 bolt is stronger, some say it doesn't crankwalk, I don't know. I have a 7 bolt, and I stick to the common saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

yeah i'm feelin the sayin'...but i can see how the other people would probably go by the saying (not that it is a saying, but) if it could happen, prevent it.
