I found 92 4g63 N/A motor for a really good price. I am planning to build a 6 bolt with aftermarket internals.ill be sending the block for machining. I haven’t bought the motor .Can I use the block or is it different from the turbo version?

The N/T block is exactly the same as the Turbo block. The only slight difference is the N/T has NO oil squirters and the knock sensor hole may or may NOT be threaded. If its NOT threaded then you just need a tap to thread it.

If you rebuild the N/T block with good quality parts it will be just as strong as any turbo 6 bolt engine.

The block, crank, rods are all exactly the same in all 6bolt engines wether they are turbo or non turbo.

The non turbo pistons are different. They have a higher 9:1 comp ratio, and the rings lands are diffrent. You do NOT want to use N/T pistons.

Also the 1gnt cams are a little different. I think its just the exhaust cam. Other than that the head is the same too.

No, both motors have cast internals, with the exception of the 2g turbo pistons which are forged powder.

Same motor, just a few slight differences as mentioned. A set of used oem turbo cams and oem pistons run really cheap. Also don't forget to reuse your old turbo injectors if you still have them.

It is a general consensus among DSM'ers that the oil squirters are not needed as the benefits of having the oil squirters installed do little to nothing for the engine. Magnus motor sports actually suggest deleting the oil squirters as it is just another component that can fail by getting clogged and raise your oil pressure unexpectedly.

Use which ever block seems to be in better shape.
