4g63->G63b head swap?

Just wanting to know if anyone here has attempted to swap the 4g63 dohc head onto the G63b block? I know these blocks did come with sohc heads, but I've also read that the non usdm motors did come with dohc and even turbo'd. I've also read that 4g63 6bolt guts will also transfer into the G63b. It just seems like an easier alternative to swapping a 4g63 long block into G63b powered car

not sure which block that was.

i knwo a 4g64 block will fit a 63 head with one hole welded shut. then i knwo the rods froma 6-bolt work. the front case is the same, oil filter housing patern is the same,water pump is the same,timing had to be from a 4g64,oil pan needs provisions for turbo drain line.

im gonna look up which block that was. its been a while since ive looked into the block codes but i just got a sweet deal on a block im definately pickin up.

I put a 6-bolt DSM DOHC 4G63 head on a '90 SOHC 4G64 Mighty Max block. Bolting it up was the easy part...

Any specific questions?

which coolant passages need to be plugged. i got everythign else under control but that. i found everything i need but im abotu to go get a eclipse head gasket and see which ports are different on the deck itself.

any pics would help.

Just get the g4cs block(from a 90 sonata) won't need to block any waterpasseges or anything. Mine should be coming back from the machinst sometime this week. I'll take pics if wanted.

Does anyone know if the bellhousing bolts are 12 1/4" for the 4g63?? I'm wondering this b/c ppl have utlized the G64b to use in 2.3 or 2.4 applications. If you can infact use the 4g63 dohc head onto the G63b block, it opens up another set of cars like the 2.0 might max's or even the colt vistas
