thats alot of work man. best bet might be to just buy an awd civic wagon thingymabob and modify the cabin if you dont like the look :)

think that would be the cheapest route. also have to remember honda driveshafts really blow. they can only handle like 200-250 hp. so good luck on that :)

*edit* usually the tires will break loose before the driveshaft breaks but that doesnt always happen also :)

well i wanted to keep weight down, i origionally was toying with the SR20DE/DET/VE series but i think those motors might be to tall. recently i was thinkin of a 13B from an RX-7. y'know, just something fun to do and/or drive :D .

Do you mean a 9 inch rear end? As in Ford 9 Inch found under old trucks and cars?
I've just never heard of a 9 bold rear end. The 12 bolt rear end I have heard of (chevy 12 bolt refering to the number of bolts on the dif cover) and a chevy 10 bolt I've heard of (Used in later model 1/2 tons)... but never heard of a 9 bolt.

You may want to consider , if you can find it, using a Audi 1.8t quattro setup on this car, that 1.8 it is pretty compact and it is not tranversly mounted so that means you have a lot less hassle with the drivetrain, You can get a buttload of poer out of those powerplants and the quattro system is very stout, just my 3.2 cents

IF you are doing it to do it, then by al means go for it. If you are doing it because of possible performance gains, remember that there is a lot of custom fabrication involved in this swap. You will more than likely lose any gains you would have had before you started.

If you loose 1200+Lbs of wieght and don't see any gains I think you did something wrong. To say loosing over a 1000lbs isn't worth it is crazy! Honda's are running 9.99 with only 300 Hp because of there light wieght!
