I am looking for info on differences, etc on what it takes to swap a 2.4L into a NT Eclipse. Any info would help as we are now at the point of this NT/Turbo build-up that we need to upgrade the internals. And have decided to go the 2.4L bottom-end route. Thanks

same engine...the 2.4 (566A) is the base motor in many of Chyslers car line-up. to install the 2.4 you'll need to buy or fabricate the passenger side motor mount bracket and on the front motor mount (torque mount) you'll have to drill the main mount bolt hole 3/4"in lower. use the head bolts from the 2.4 and use the 2.4 timing belt. when you go to bolt up the exhaust manifold/header you'll have to cut the exhaust support bracket down to compensate for the taller block. this is the guts of the swap, but it is a serious pain in the A$$...if you can, try to get a post 2001 2.4, the oil pan is cast aluminum w/ the lower bell housing bolts tapped right into it...it is a good bit stronger than the little metal brackets that come on pre-2001 2.4 and the 420A. hope info helps...:dsm: :laser:
