I haven't posted on tuners in awhile, but I have a problem with my sisters 420a Talon that I can't seem to figure out. First of all, there is a PO505 code, which is of course IDLE CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION. Instead of just cleaning the ISC, we replaced it completely. We then cleared the code, but after a few minutes of the car running, the check engine light returned with the same code.
Now the car has a little trouble starting, will start up then quickly drop rpms and stall. The only way to get it running is to give it alittle gas, then it starts up and runs. After it gets running, it once in awhile drops off in the rpms while idling and will stall. While driving the car, it will occasionally "buck" or sputter for just second and then run fine again.
The strangest part is when the check engine light is on, the car seems to run half decent, good idle, drives fine except for the sputter every once in awhile. If the check engine light does go off while driving, the car misses and doesn't run as well.
Lastly tonight when I drove it from my parents house to my apartment (about 5 miles up hill) I had the car running for almost 10 minutes before I left, then the 5 minute drive home and the coolant temp never moved from cold. Now its possible the gauge is bad, but just thought id throw this in here, in case maybe the some kind of coolant sensor is adding to this or something along those lines.

Any help is appreciated, if anyone else experienced anything like this on your 420a, post your results, I really want to get this straightened out.

Most likely the gauge is fine. Your thermostat is broken and stuck open letting coolant continously circulate and not letting the car reach correct operating temperature. Therefore closed loop is affected. Switch out the thermostat first then let us know if your other symptoms still occur while driving.
