I was actually just looking into this for another member a few days ago. The result was disappointing.

Back in the day (and even a few years ago) the Megan Racing test pipe was the go-to product. Nice fitment and quality. They were sold on Ebay and the Megan Racing website. But unfortunately and unsurprisingly they have finally been discontinued.

The only option I could dig up was a cheap replica. The price is quite concerning and I'm not sure that it's even available, but that's what you're left with. We might be coming upon the days of needing some welding work to have a test pipe.

I believe my cat is bad so I was looking for a cheap alternative but I didn’t want it to sound awful. But if they don’t make decent test pipes anymore I was considering just getting a high flow cat from magnaflow. Should I just spend the extra money and get the magnaflow?

If it's an off road-only car, you can hollow out your cat. There's a ceramic matrix inside the cat that'll come out cleanly if you break it up with a piece or rebar, or something. Of course, it would be illegal to do this on a street car. Why do you think your cat is bad?
