Hello guys, greeting from bulgaria. I have eclise gs 1g and I'm about to buy the front brake calipers + rotors of a 300gt ( 4 piston ones) . Now the question is will they fit inside of a 15 inch wheel.

"You do not need 17 inch wheels to use the dual piston non-turbo 3000GT calipers. They are the same calipers that came on 93 and later AWD DSM's. 16 inch wheels clear them just fine. You will need 17 or bigger to use the four piston 3000GT VR4 calipers and rotors.

Somebody on the GVR4 board recently made a post with photos about using these calipers on his Galant: http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/...=&fpart=1&vc=1"

I'm quite familiar with this link. I know they fit 16 and 17" wheels, however i asked about 15"

I highly doubt you'll get either of the versions of the turbo 3s four piston calipers under a 15" wheel with the matching stock rotor. If the diameter isn't too big the width likely will be.

There are examples with larger rims in http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/handling-tech/405245-3000-gt-tt-brakes.html

The non-turbo calipers and rotors just fit inside the stock 16" rims on my car there's no way I'd get those wheels on my RT/TT.

Yes...15's can be made to fit. Some grinding of the caliper was required but really not a whole lot.

A 15" wheel with a little more inside clearance than a rota slip may not need any modifications.

I stand corrected.

Cory, were you involved in doing that?

How much grinding is required? You can't see much in that picture but it looks like the outer caliper face was flattened quite a bit.

What's the offset and were spaces use?. You can see that the tires are outside the wheel well.

It was soo long ago...

I know spacers were used, I can only assume they were 15-20mm.

Wheels were 15x8 +40.

I think the face was ground down because he wanted it that way, but I can ask austin tomorrow and see if he remembers.

I searched around his old threads but couldnt find any info...

I can measure the spacers if you want. I believe you said the two jmf in the front and the two thin ones on each side in the rear.
Or maybe the oppisite, jmf in the rear cause of the rear ebreak hats.

So glad i got those wheels, just having a bi*** of a time installing arp studs in the hubs.

Were the ones you sold me 15x8 or 15 x7.5, havent measured the wheel honestly.

different spacers were used.

they might be 7.5, should say on the inside of the rim.

As mentioned above they can be made to fit, but you really limited on what 15" rims can be used due to spoke design.
