i was thinking of getting some plugs and wires, a cheap ebay intake or maybe some 6x9's to replace the stockers. what do you guys think?
i am open to suggestions

are you saying that they are 6 1/2 by 9's or that they are round 6 1/2's?
the don't look very round

Maybe it is different in an RS.. but in the back of my 96 eclipse GS, i had 2 round speakers.. i replaced my with 2 Rockford Fosgate 6 1/2 round.. going to go JL Audio when I get a chance.

hey.. look at the speaker on the inside.. the screen on the cover panel is what f*cked me up. There are 3 screws to the back panel, unscrew these and pull the panel off. im pretty sure they are round no oblong. Hope this helps

It wont get much smarter than this for your first 300 bucks!
You will get alot better performance (MY OPINION) and you will love the sound of a CAI. The other stuff is just basically matience but you will have to change them sooner or later so why not chamge them for better products?

go for the sleeper look pick up a www.modernperformance.com 60mm. throttle body, even with the stock air box you flow will be much greater than any intake. (note:not recomending stock air box) This is my next mod after i pick up a new intake manifold on Ebay (im winning this Auction) im going to port the intake manfold then just bolt on the new assembly then who ever else wants to do this mod can buy my intake manifold and put on a 60mm and so on ...

yea i looked at it at night with a flashlight and you can see through the screen. they are round. I didn't get to measure them but you did say they were 6 1/2's.

if im not mistaken they are actually 5x7's in the rear and 6.5's in the fornt for the first 300 you should drop the car give it a cleaner look and help the handling and sh*t! just my opinion

i was thinking about that to. i was thining ground control coilovers with koni red shocks. Gis that a good combination?

6.5s in front

6x9s in back

but good luck getting any aftermarket 6x9 in there without cutting your panel and having them stick out. there isn't enough depth. I bout some 5 1/4s and built a plate to mount it in the 6x9 hole. It worked out pretty good and sounds great.

Trust me I tried every 6x9 at the local stereo shop. not one would fit. there just isnt enough depth for an aftermarket magnet assembly.
