3" lower intercooler pipe...whats wrong!!!

Ok I JUST finished doing a custom intall on my car. The pipe came off a powerstroke diesel ford pick-up(I am a ford mechanic), which was free. Now the pipes inside diameter is just over 3" approx 3 1/16" or less, and is all hard pipe mandrel bent. I notice a bit more pull but my boost is goinign everrywhere, for instance on pull Ill notice all three gears are giving me 13 psi and I can barely hold on for my life, but next pull Ill notice 6-11psi. When its at 6-11 psi it bounces back and forth unconrtollebly and has a bit less pull. Now I just bought a cheap mbc a week ago and have yet to install it. I dont know if this will help...but I am kinda affraid to spike too much boost and break something. I have already today hit fuel cut twice and that almost scared the sh** out of me. What should I do?

SHould I install the mbc?...Will it help me at all? If not what should I do?
 
yeah I got the mbc installed...and yes the pipe is more than mighty big, its huge. But there was too much psi and it kept poping of so I will use it someother way.
 
With a proper boost control system (good MBC, etc), a pipe tyhat big shouldn't cause any problems.

Install the MBC, and also make sure that the pipe isn't leaking at all.
 
you'd think that that large of pipe on a stock turbo would cause some serious pressure drop. am i wrong in thinking this?
 
actually its not all that bad...great pull but it kept getting disconnected which sucks because it was a nice upgrade. Free piping and a saturday free of plans I thought it would be a good idea. If I get it to hold up the car will haul a$$ with the mbc set at 15psi. Oh well it already hauls a$$.
