now I know why posts have to be at least 3 characters or longer, LOL

"Im venting, but its running poorly under accelleration, not between shifts, so I dunno whats wrong with my car..."

I just had a thought edwin, you might be running too lean, and the missing airflow is just what your engine wants, LOL

So I'm in! Up until today I would have said put me in the spirited group, but now I think i'll be hanging back in the "I'm going to go the speed limit group."

I just did a hwy9/skyline/hwy1 Santa Cruz run today and OMG, cops galore! I was with two other friends. I had my daughter in the car, and so did one of my friends in his EVO. Neither of us had any intentions of speeding today.

We took 85 to Saratoga, went up Saratoga to 9, and as soon as I took the left turn where 9 begins, then the right turn, a Sheriff jumped out behind me. Mind you, I'm not speeding. So I get tailed for a while and I guess he got tired of following my going the speed limit (which by the way is mind-numbingly slow on that road), hit the lights, I waved and pulled over at the next chance I got. First thing he says to me, "Are we going to be doing any racing today?" No sir, I'm just headed up to Alice's for some food, then over to Santa Cruz with some friends. "That your friend in the blue car ahead? (the EVO). He's lucky you slowed down and let him get away. Did you do that on purpose?" At this point I'm thinking this guy's a complete ass. I was going the speed limit the whole time and I've got my kid in the car. A few minutes later, another officer in a dark green unmarked jeep Wrangler pulls up and they start chatting. Long story short, all he was able to get me for was not having a front license plate.

I've heard they are patrolling hwy9 like mad these days. I had recently heard that they had video taped a bunch of people racing around up there in the evenings and busted a large bunch of people that hang out up at the rest area to the left of the first stop sign on hwy9 in the evenings. I believe it now. He even followed me up the rest of the way to make sure I didn't do anything illegal. I saw at least six other police cars, motorcycles (and one highway patrol car up there) today.

There was also some clown dressed as a biker that took immediate attention to my car when I stopped up at Alice's (at the parking lot across the street). He walked up, did a lap around the car and started looking everything over. My other two friends that got there before me said that he did the exact same thing to them once they arrived.

All I can say is that if there is going to be a group of us up in that area, be careful.

...awesome. First day driving my car after it being down for what seems like forever and I get pulled over, hasseld, and given a lame fix-it ticket. Boooo.

Well, looks like im taking the GS on this one, got the car running... for a day and it started acting up again. Now I'm pulling my motor out of frustration. Should be a fun project but i doubt i will be done by sept.

LOL, apparently Kelsey and tim went to santa cruz today too, and guess what? Kelsey got a ticket for 85 in a 65 ROFL

:barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: sounds like I might want to go with the slow group too. Makes sense anyways since Im probably not a good enough driver anyways.

Now, now, the ticket was written for 75 in a 65. And yeh, there were cops everywhere down there yesterday, it was kinda crazy.

Tickets ftl.

I just got one last week, but that was for being stupid, solo in carpool.

Can't risk any more

PLEASE READ AND GIVE YOUR INPUT IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED

Alright guys I am seriously considering changine the location/ activities of this meet. After hearing Module's troubles with his trip up hwy9 I took a trip around the loop with the wife tonight and there was a rediculous amount of cops out. I will take another trip when I get back from vacation at the end of this month but I would much rather not bring a whole slew of dsmers through that area that are higly modded. Obeying the speed limit or not I just don't trust cops these days especially with a group of us. Let me know what you guys think.

Well we can take another route to get there? Is all highway 9 filled with cops or certain areas? If we have to take another route then we should specially if some of us are fast drivers..

There are plenty of ways to get to santa cruz but all the fun ones are infested with cops. Its not just 9. Skyline is bad, the backside of 84 is bad. I didn't go on any other roads today but it was all pretty bad.

Stinson Beach round 2!!!!!! hopefully this time I wont lose any car parts on the way home.

The meet will being going down regardless of where it is so no worries to anyone. I am just seriously debating if we should go through with THIS meet or if I should set up another one.

I really don't like to do this because it usually turns bad....but what would you guys like to do? Let me know and i'll think of some ideas as well.

EDIT: Are all you lame asses broke as well?ROFL If not that opens up some possibilites, who here is willing to spend some money to have fun and how much.

zack, it should be fine as long as we keep the date. i would really like a driving event...but not if im gonna get pulled over. but lets drive...i got my brakes on.

It will be the same day, I just don't know how comfortable I feel leading a pack of modded(some more thanothers) dsms through twistie mountain roads knowing that we could all get pulled over and ####ed royally. I will figure something out though for sure. THERE WILL BE A MEET!!!

second saturday of september is the date. (please let me sell my car, i want my 3052 before then)
