hah, good question.

I registered when I first got my car and spent most of my time as a passive spectator just to learn about my car. I didn't really know much so I didn't have anything to contribute and everything I needed help w/ I could find w/ a search. When I starting getting a grasp on things I left home for school. I leave my car @ home so I spend 9/12 months out of the car realm.

Anyway, I'm bringing my car w/ me in the fall so I can stay more involved w/ things and I know my way around the gsx pretty well now so I can contribute a bit more. The gsx was bone stock when I purchased it and I've done about 98% of all the work on it myself and it feels like I've come a long long way. I've definately had my fair share of being drenched in coolant, grease and all that shit while swapping parts and trying to get bolts off at 3 in the morning.

You'd suprising how hard it is to stay kept up w/ the forums when you don't actually have your car even remotely nearby.

YUP that's my story... not terribly interesting but I suppose you don't really see ppl registered for a year and half w/out a post.

I'm too talkative to keep my mouth shut for that long. It gets me in trouble, ALL THE TIME. just look at any post I've made pretty much.

unlmtdndeavor, are you talking about gr-2s? if so, pm me please, I think some slightly used ones would be perfect for me. LOL

then I can spend some money towards strut tower bars. Which ones are good for 1gs?

The strut bars that are good for 1g's are the ones that don't go on the front. I repeat DO NOT put a front strut or sway bar on an awd unless you have a really nice suspension that will power over steer with the above mentioned components. I midly modded(suspension wise) awd will understeer even more if you put a front sway and/or front strut bar.
 
so should I just buy the front sway bar now to save on shipping/cost and put it in later?

whats a good rear strut tower bar then?
 
struts bars are practically pointless imo. if you need sway bars get a set of fronts and rears that were meant to work together. but as rre's site says, these cars have a stiff enough bar in the front and only need a rear, which makes perfect sense seeing as we are awd.

raul...why do i think that i saw your car for sale last week or something? am i just crazy? are you the one looking to get at mahesh's driveshaft too?
 
so do we have like,... a date or something? ### uhhh,... I like, need to know that kinda... otherwise my boss might get a little pissed, (again)
 
ya we have a date and its going to be later than expected. Its going to be the second weekend of september. I know its later than expected but there is no time before the end of August for me and the first weekend of september is labor day weekend so that's a no go. So it will be the second saturday of the month.

Well im glad its not for another month. My dsm died in my driveway after a spirited drive to the store and now it wont start. I'm debating if I want to even attemp to fix it or just start tearing it apart. Wish me luck:cry:

ok, berkeley and san fran really, REALLY aren't my strong spots. At least I know the freeways pretty well, and if you came to orinda, you might understand why I never bothered to learn street signs... The street I live on is in three different places throughout the town. Same exact name, completely different street.

plus, the minivan has like 500 maps in it, so normally I just start driving and end up pulling over and looking at those, and when Im in the dsm, I can't really do that. I need to get one of those books for my dsm, with all of california in it.
 
But Brian, you never drive the DSM anywhere anyways.... and thats the day after I get my knee surgery, so you're driving me.
 
second week of september...sweeeet...i dont leave for school until the third saturday. i think this means ill have my setup in as well. hopefully we will have some new awd's coming along with us.

sure, I'll slap that supra intercooler on your car and take it for a spin... LOL, less risk for my car then, plus, the extra weight from your 2g may be what saves us
