This meeted turned out so great last year it was only fitting to do again. Not to mention the fact that you guys seemed stoked on having it again when talking to you at Stinson. It will be the same thing as last year pretty much. Only I need to find somewhere/something for us to do once we get there so we dont' have to deal with agnry old parking lot attendants and all the other parking situations we found our selves in. For those who didn't go last year it goes like this.

-We meet up at safeway on woodside road in Redwood City around 8am
-We head over to the 76 with 100octane pump gas for the people who want to run that
-After getting all the cars ready to go we head out.
-We first head up 84(woodside rd) I like to think of this as the warm up road. Lots of longer easier turns to get a feel for your car.
-We then head southbound on skyline rd to highway 9
-Once we get to 9 we head south/west on 9 into santa cruz. This road is quite a bit more technical for those who haven't been on it and I really don't recomend stretching your legs on this road if its the first time driving it. The morning dew can make it extremely slick so I hope to have everyone(myself included) be careful when driving down this road.
-Once we get to santa cruz we will do something, then eat, then hand out some more(maybe go to the boardwalk like last year?)
-How you get home is up to you, after the very exhausting long drive in and hanging out in the sun all day I just opt to take 17 back over the hill and onto whatever freeway you need to take. HOwever, if you feel you wouldl ike to take 9 back by all means go for it.
-The last thing you need to do on this meet is try to keep up with me and Edwin:D ROFL ROFL

Just like last year I will have two, maybe three groups of people and each group will have a "leader." There will be the spirited group, the cruising group, and if enough people would like to have it an intermediate group. I will be heading off the spirited group as I have most likely driven the road more than anyone and feel comfortable enough doing it. If you wold like to say be at the back of the spirited group just tell me and i'll make sure to let everyone know where you want to be. For this group I really really need everyone(again myself included) to check your ego's at the door. I really don't want anyone going off a cliff or into a ditch. I have almost crashed a couple of times on these road and its not a fun experience.

DIRECTIONS

From the northern Penninsula.

You can take 101 or 280 south to get there. For 280 you take the woodside road exit, make a left at the light on the offramp and head back under the freeway. Keep heading down woodside rd until you get to the flat part. Safeway will be on your left hand side, across teh street from Chucks Doughnuts and right next to starbucks. For Taking 101 south exit woodside road and head west. Continue up woodside rd untill you see safeway on your right hand side right after starbucks and chucks d's.

From San Jose

Same as above only only make the oposite turns off the freeway.

From the East bay. Take whichever bridge/freeway you like and get to 101, From the bay bridge/San Mateo bridge take 101 south. From 880/237/Dumbarton bridge take 101 north. Then follow the above directions.

If anyone has any walkie talkies that you could bring that would be great, we had some this time at stinson but I didn't know untill it was too late.

So let's set up the list like this, list your name, the group you would like to be in, and if you have a preference as to where you want to be in the group list that as well.

1.)Zach(98eclipseRS) - spirited group.

What date is it going to be? Meets probably mostly happen on Saturday and I'm going to take a Saturday class :notgood:

LOL

anyway, if i go then ...

1.)Zach(98eclipseRS) - spirited group.
2.)Justin(elfroggo) - the cool (chill) group :boring:

Im thinking first saturday of August, Sundays = too many stupid drivers on these roads for this meet. Maybe the end of this month, and maybe on a sunday I have to work out with Sean(owner of Full Function) whether or not he is going to have a big all car bbq/dyno day like last year or if he is planning something else.

Not sure if I can go..I requested too many days off already :( I will try though, if I go i'll be with the cruise/chill group. Torque steer > Me ROFL

PS: What date? My bday is on August 15th so I can probably work something out if my manager is in a good mood

There were groups last year?

1.)Zach(98eclipseRS) - spirited group.
2.)Justin(elfroggo) - the cool (chill) group
3.)Mahesh(MyBlack94GST) - back of the spirited group... in the AWD hopefully

I'll come, but I'm going to be mature and let you guys choose where I should be. I want to say back of the spirited group, but I don't always make the best choices in life.

On the plus side, I've never actually bitten off more than I can chew, I may bite off a lot, but I deal with it pretty well normally. IE working on my car with no experience whatsoever. it all worked out in the end, it might just take me a little bit longer LOL. Also, I might have an awd 1g with 235's, but my front shocks are shot, and unless I replace those before the meet, which I probably will actually, I will be putting myself in the slow group. If I replace them with a nice agx/eibach setup, I think I would be confident enough to say I could hang with the middle of the spirited group. Im going to take a look at the roads your talking about, since I go down to los gatos three times a week and if I can start taking some of them in the minivan for practice (don't laugh, I'll make you shit your pants in that car, and I've only come close to rolling it once....) I'll do that just to be safe. My guess is those roads are mostly more south than los gatos though. Just my luck. Maybe on a nice day I'll take the dsm down there and do a test run for the hell of it.

Im coming no matter what though.

1.)Zach(98eclipseRS) - spirited group.
2.)Justin(elfroggo) - the cool (chill) group
3.)Mahesh(MyBlack94GST) - back of the spirited group... in the AWD hopefully
4.)brian(tstkl) - well, I got balls, but lets see if I can walk the walk or just sit on my ass and talk the talk.

p.s.: that balls comment was refering to my unfortunate nickname....

-The last thing you need to do on this meet is try to keep up with me and Edwin
HAHA..my car isn't fast...i just set the suspension to rattle bolts loose and run autocross tire pressure (40psi). i promise i wont spray gas this time. im almost hoping that this meet is a bit later so i can have more mods on. but ill most likely be right behind zack on this run...i mean i did it last year with crappy tires and gr-2's.

1.)Zach(98eclipseRS) - spirited group.
2.)Justin(elfroggo) - the cool (chill) group

5.)Edwin(unlmtdndeavor) - sprited group.

Brian 84 is still north of los gatos and you can actually take the first half of 9 back into los gatos. Just take 84 up the hill(the way we will be going) then take skyline across then take 9 back down the hill into los gatos(if you take 9 this way it will be the oposite of the way we go for the run, you will want to go left onto 9 from skyline to get to los gatos).

I would rate 84 as like a 3 or 4 skyline as a 1 or 2 it just gets a little tricky because you are going a good 70 mph and 9 at about a 6 or 7 maybe a bit higher for the first time drivers since there are alot of blind turns that come up without warning. Like a very fast paced left handen to an imediate 270 degree downhill tight radius right hander(1st gear with the ass end hanging out baby).

I almost shat my pants looking at it on google maps, I didn't even want to touch the hybrid mode....

all money after I get my car running perfectly will be direct towards suspension until december of this year I've decided. (I just bought 1000cc injectors, Im having dave burn me a chip, I need to get my wideband o2 sensor working again, and I bought a new digital volt meter to replace the one I burt out the day I got it, and never replaced it until now. after that it should be running like a dream, I might get a new sbr exhaust manifold to replace my cracked 1g manifold, but for sure the shocks will be replaced before this meet, hopefully with agx's all the way around.)

I might just go the whole way for the fun of it, who knows.

Alright guys unless you all object I am going to change the meet date to the end of August. I got ass jacked at work and they are giving me the on call phone for the next three and a half weeks before I go on vacation.

Looks like I'll begoing to this one too. Not sure what car I'll be taking because I really wanna start installing my 2.3 but my procrastinating ass will probably not finish in time.

I should finally have my little beast up and running this next week so plenty of time to tune and be ready for this meet. Count me in on being chasing the sprinted group.

nice what mods you getting for it? You need to call me for the low down on the car, let's just say 30r, awd, and dsmlink.

i swear, we are gonna have the same car....well not really...i dont have a built motor..haha...or a 2g. but we will share dsmlink, maft, 30r, and 272s! welcome me soon to the 30r club.

I think Im getting gr-2s or whatever and rm sways. I would rather get some shocks that had a little more strenght to them, but money is slim. Maybe I'll just save up til early august and see what I can pull together by then.

i had gr-2....its not really worth it. unless you are really in a bind. i would just save up for some agx's. i have some on sportlines and the car handles decent. its understeers but i could use some wider tires.

my front shocks are completely shot, so at the least I'll probably end up getting them. I just figured I might as well go ebay and get the whole set for like 200. Seems worth it to me since my nose moves more than my rims. Momentum sucks sometimes...

if you want i can sell you a slightly used set for a good price. hit me up about them. they have like 5k miles on them.
