I have a 98 GSX 5 speed that I am building right now for 400 plus horsepower and I was wondering what do I need to be able to blow flames out of my exhaust? I'm not ricer at all. I like the stock look of the car so my body is all stock. Other than the modded motor, nice 17" rims, aftermarket exhaust and gauges that is all done to the car. My car is going to be tuned on the black box with the creddy tune with anti-leg and 2 step plus few other tunes. If it makes a difference I have 1150cc fuel injectors on the car. I owe you could make a flame kit for just about any car but I don't want to do that. I would like to be able to rev my engine few times at a car event and blow flames. I don't want to be called a ricer and I would like people to say that is sick and not talk crap about my car. So like good things to come out of the GSX. So please let me know what I need to do and let me know if the tune is going to that make that happen. The vehicle is in the process of getting tuned so I don't know if that too and will do it. Thanks for the help in advance

P.S I will be at 20-25 psi boost. Plus I know when a DSM is running rich it my blow flames but once my car is all done it shouldn't run rich also I will be tuned so I don't get fuel cut

I'll bite even though I seriously hope this is a joke....anti lag is going to be your best bet at shooting flames but it will beat the hell out of your turbo and anyone with more than 2 brain cells will call you a ricer since you're running it for no real benefit.

You say you're not a ricer yet...
I would like to be able to rev my engine few times at a car even and blow flames.
Which also strangely reminds me of....
You must be logged in to view this image or video.

But if you really must, pull massive amounts of timing and have a straight thru exhaust, no cat. Richening the mixture will also help as well. Other than looks, it doesn't achieve much...which is kind of the definition of a ricer...
To answer your underlying question, track times and dyno sheets will go much farther impressing people than a bunch of flames out the exhaust.

You would need to run the car pretty rich to achieve this. Plus run a straight through exhaust system. I do not really see why anyone would purposely do this. I would recommend spending your time researching something that actually has a benefit.

Personally I wouldn't call that sick at all if I saw it. Id think "this guys got some serious problems with his car".

Soo. There is this thing called the internet. These search engines allow you to find things on them. They can be quite helpful when looking for silly things to do to your car.

The anti lag will be your best chance at shooting flames, like others have said. If not they make flame thrower kits, that have a spark plug and fuel source that you press with a button and light up. Have seen it on a bike before at a local car meet. Those are about your only bets.

The old hot rod guys used to weld a bung in the exhaust and screw a spark plug in the bung. Run a switched power lead to the plug. Get her running rich and hit the button. At least that's what the old guys I work with say haha.
