2g TSI AWD street strip project

Well I am steping into a whole different world, just got a 2g TSI awd 5 speed I know little to nothing about awds . Only reason why I got it was for all the goodies and a good price!. (list below)

and I am sure theres other stuff that I am missing


The guy I got it from said that at one time they timing was done incorrectly by the trigger plate being backwards. They started the car and bam. so there was damage done to the #1 piston be he said it wasnt that bad.I dont always like taking someones word for it but to lazy to tear it all back down . I might borrow my buddies snapon scope and check it myself. He replaced the head and couldnt get it to start. The starter isnt staying ingaged. So I am going to replace it and see if it will even run after a good going through. He said the car was setup for e85 but once again i dont know . But here are some pics to get me motivated and hopefully some help with this build. Like I said I know nothing about awds

Finally after several months I get to post up some updates .After finding a ton of shaft play in the garrett t67 ,I just grabbed a old hx35 off the shelf and a garrett style hotside off here.Worked out great because I had the gt 4bolt style flange on the old turbo . I sanded and smoothed out the humps on the compressor housing,I cant stand rough looking castings .. Found a better manifold to carry the weight of the hx35 . South Florida Performance . I love the way its built even though its a mild steel its still better than the cracked up obx tuner I had .

Everything looked great till I put on my tial f38 and the hood is like 3/4" of a inch from closing . I really dont want to heat it up and bend it down,but being on a tight budget I might do that.

Turbo Mocked up
I dont know how other manifolds are but the turbo cleared everything nicely except the hood.Also mocked up a filter pipe out of old cold air intake pipes I had laying around . I will get more pics up soon . Maybe I can get some motivation from yall to get this thing going, I been hella slacking

Well from the looks of it, your wastegate is on the wrong way. You bolted the outlet to the manifold.

I'd say it'll fit better if you flip it around. Looks like a good start to a build though.
