I have heard that DSMlink gives the maps the ecu uses for advancing timing? Is that true? Is there some way that one of you guys with DSMlink can post these?
 
They arent secret. You can pull them right out of your ECU, if you have a eprom reader and a hex editor ;)

BTW, the "maps" that the DSMLink guys provided, arent the complete maps that are in the ECU, they just show timing vs airflow/rev, at 3 airflow/rev levels. The actual timing map is much bigger than 3xwhatever. They just show the rough map so people can get an idea of what it looks like.

i'll have to see if my hacker/computer nerd friend can read mine then, as he had been talking about making reprogrammable eprom ecu's for the starquest guys around here.

If anybody has used this method and would like to share, that would be great. I dont see why the info would be proprietary if the dsm link guys are just extracting info from our ecu!

Anyways, the reason I am asking is because I have a pocketlogger and I am trying to tune PART THROTTLE!. It is so hard to tune the 2G's without knowing what the knock retard values are.

I know that the ecu will pull timing back 1 degree if the intake temps are above a specific temperature. I think it will also pull timing 1 degree if the coolant temps are above a specific temperature. Anyone know these?

To make things even more complicated the 2g's pull timing during "tip in" throttle.

At WOT I think I have a pretty good tune starts at 8 to 9 deg and goes to 21 deg at 6500 rpm. But at part throttle, the timing is all over the place!

Don't worry about it. Your wot runs and timing advance sounds good. That's all that matters. Part throttle stuff doesn't matter since the ecu is in closed loop operation still. The only other thing to tune is your short term and long term fuel trims; this would be the low settings on the safc.
 
Yep low is all set too. Got my low throttle set so my LTFT all went to 0 or close to it. Would still be interested in the maps though. At part throttle sometimes I see 3 deg of timing? Th pts are at 20% and 60% because of the quick spool of the t-25
