    Sorry I'm bad with titles,

    Basically I saw this picture:

...and I was wondering if that really is a stock 420a rear washer fluid tank. If so, does anyone know if it will fit in the same location on a 2G GS-T/GSX car? Just trying to find an OEM-like replacement for the big tank that sits in the wheel well.

420A has a rear and front washer tank if the car is equipped with a rear wiper. GST/GSX has only one tank in the rear for both front and rear washers 9two separate pumps in one tank with larger capacity to supply both). To run the tank pictured in a GST or GSX you would only have one pump to run off of.

If you do end up having to go non-OEM making one isn't terribly difficult with the trick being securing it somewhere. The OEM pumps use notched rubber gaskets to press into the holes of the stock tank, and you can make the same sized holes in any other tank and press the oem pumps in place there. I made a tank for my racecar when I was still driving to/from tracks and it really didn't take much. I imagine this might be obvious to you but in case it wasn't I wanted to give you some confidence that you have options that are non-OEM that will work well.

Thanks. Yes I'm aware of those options. I have also seen some Universal fluid tanks that go for relatively cheap which even come with the same style pump and plug. I just wanted to know for sure if that specific reservoir will fit in a turbo trunk. My rear wiper is removed so I will only need to run fluid to the front jets. Planning on using the wheel well for storage (always gotta have those emergency tools on hand!).

If anyone with a 420a car is looking over this and has access to his trunk, can you please take a picture of it so we can see the whole system better?

I've got a 420a parts car at home. I will look and see if it has that particular tank.

Pictures of the tank and filler neck are from a 97 420a, the picture of the red car is the same area in the back of a 95 gsx. Looks like it would be a direct fit as far as bolting up. The tank in the picture is in a car I'm parting out in case you are interested in it.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to check and get the pictures!

I can't see it very clearly, but did you see if the GSX had the same mounting points for the reservoir? Also are we to assume that the plastic trim panels go over the reservoir without clearance issues?

sorry, didn't realize the pictures came out so fuzzy. Yes the GSX had the same mounting studs in place that the 420a washer tank is attached to. you would need to remove the fill neck and tank and in stall the complete tank and neck from the 420A car to make it work. Only thing I didn't check was to see if the electrical connector for the pump was the same, but that is a simple swap if it isn't.

Just wanted to update this myself as I just did the install. Like SAKJR says, it's a complete bolt-on as the mounting points are already there but not used. Just had to elongate the hose that goes to the front two jets. I reused my old pump just in case, but both pumps are the same (DENSO) and use the same connectors. Here's a few pics:

For people who have AWDs and have deleted the rear wiper, this is a nice swap to free up some space in the trunk and still keep the front jets!
