I blindly wedged a screwdriver in there for 5 mintues until i felt the clip. then pushed the screwderiver in and popped off it off. Once you do it you'll know where it is for subsequent times.

I'm kinda leaning on getting one of these for my gst

it's the dual gauge pods that fit around your instrument bezel. i am curious if you can still read your oil pressure/fuel level gauges with these on it? also are the gauge easy to read in that location? i really want to stray away from the pillar gauges as i dont want people seeing them.

thanks

Ive got one with my oil pressure gauge in it and its pretty good. I like having boost and EGT up at eye level, but I just like to glance down at oil pressure often. Its not something I can adjust so I dont' need it at eye level. Only problem with the cluster pod is that I needed to cut a bit out of the gauge cluster...I trimmed the clear plastic a bit and a little on the black overlay. Not that big of a deal and I thought it looked pretty clean.

Here is a pic I just took of what it would look like driving.

EDIT: the gauge is one of those smoke ones, so the car has to have the key in the ignition to have it light up.

I was hoping to get one of these for my gauges instead of those pillar ones.

I'm not too fond of showing off my gauges and intrusments, especially here in Chicago where the car theft rate and murder rate is pretty high.

i ordered one off ebay about a week ago, along with a joe p MBC, and a 35psi nonvacuum boost gauge(2 1/16) will the gauge fit the pod? or whats the gauge pod sizes..

A boost gauge should fit in the pod without any major issues. I put an oil pressure gauge in mine and I had to trim out the clear plastic gauge cluster cover and the black bezel underneath it. Not that big of an issue.

I have it in mine, because of the same reason. It's fine depending on how I adjust the steering wheel. I'm probably going to eng up switching my EGT and boost gauges to the A-pillar though, just to put them more in my line of sight. Besides that, I'm glad I got that one instead of an A-pillar mount.

werd.. what the deal with the steering wheel does the cluster bezel get in the way of the steering wheel? that would suck owell just temporary anyways. thanks for the info tho mang

My turn signal stalk blocks my vacuum below 18 inches. I have Defi gauges though. If you use gauges that don't sweep 270 degrees from the 6 o'clock position it shouldn't be much of a problem. The pods are usually 2 1/16" (52mm). The only thing you may have trouble with is depth, as Defiant said.

yeah hmm shit.. owell

i got an autometer phantom boost gauge.. 35psi w/ no vacuum ugh not bad for 20bucks off ebay also.. but w/e better than stock? right.. LOL

got back to the house yesterday and long and behold it was sitting in the box on the floor next to the front door. now my question is how do i get the oem one off the i saw the two screws on top of the bezel but what else do i have to remove to pull it out and replace it???

havent installed the cluster bezel yet but i did take the oem one out and placed the new dual pod one in their and THIS MOTHER####ER DOESNT FIT.. ITS TOO SMALL. WTF... GUESS

now i have to order an a-pillar gauge pod now.. damnit :notgood:

tell the seller on ebay he should send u another one if the one you have is faulty, otherwise your installation is faulty, if not, then tell him you will leave a negative feedback, that usually rattles sellers and gets them moving

yeah i put it in all the way, and put the top two screws in so it was in fine. and then the bottom part of it wasnt even touching the dash... if that makes sense.

im just going to get a full a pillar friday and another damn boost gauge with vaccum on it. :thumb:

thanks for the help anyways fellas.

Sounds like you over-tightened the top screws, and at the bottom where the factory part uses spring clips you need a couple of round-head screws and nylon inserts.

the dual pod one doesnt go over the oem cluster correct. cause a friend of mine pointed out that it would fit perfect if i placed it over top of that. but would need to cut it a lil to make it able for a gauge to fit.. theres an idea.. hmm i'll figure it out once i get the correct damn boost gauge. and clearance for gauges hitting the turn signal or what not, ... it doesnt touch at all. even with a gauge in there.

thanks for the help guys
