Yeah I love the fit of mine as well... worked out great.. .one thing to watch for though... is if you have a gauge that is fairly deep like som EGT's they can somtimes be a little more tricky to fit.. since there isn't a lot of room between where the bezel attaches and where the plastic that covers the speedometer is... for my VDO EGT I had to cut a small piece out of the plastic covering for the speedometer.. but it was in an area that doesn't show.... Here is a pic of mine but it is pretty dark.. sorry about that..

I had the same problem as dave99gst and brcrwane.........the fit wasn't perfect, i pulled the bottom out to match because you cant see the top so much (had to teeter-totter it) and i had to use the dremel for the egt to fit. the end result is a stock like location, almost sleeper, and the gauges don't hamper the view of the road. my pix are in the gallery, enjoy.

yours looks nice brcewane...the gauges match nice! :thumb:

thanks for the complement... It's kind of a crappy picture, when I use a flash I get all sorts of glare, and can never seem to get the right lighting to get a good pic without a flash. They are VDO gauges and I put the amber bulbs in so all the lighting matches stock too... I have my white faced Autometer gauges on the A-pillar.. but they have the amber lighting on them as well to match the interior.... Pics of them are in my gallery.. I figured the White face looked better in my Tan gauge cups than the black ones would...

My bezel fitted perfect. As long as you use 2 screws with the retainers at the bottom, and re-attach the stock upper screws, the fit is very tight.

I have the 52mm Boost and EGT gauges from Greddy in the bezel. They do stick out, but it doesn't bother me. I'd rather have an electronic gauge over a mechanical Autometer gauge. Just my 2cents.:)

I have heard that people dremel out the openings (normally 2 1/16") to accomodate larger 2 5/8" gauages. Has anyone here done that or seen the results? How does it look? I want to keep a near factory-integrated look, nothing cheesy or ghetto-rigged. Also, is the extra size/visibility worth the extra money I would have to spend on a separate probe kit for the EGT?

What's your take??

Thanks guys.

I'd have to agree on this one.....

Ok cool, that's what I needed to know guys.

Also, anyone's take on how good the AM Ultra-Lite's will look with the bezel? Silver on black... just can't picture it to well.

Thanks!

I dont see 60mm's witting in the bezel. People bore out the autometer pillars to fit 60mm guages. But I dont thik it is possible to do it witht he bezel.

Finally here are some pics, I really think the install came out nice, and get compliments all the time.

i always wondered if you could do that to the autometer gauge bezle, i thought about trying myself. do you have any pics with the gauges out and what you did?

I don't have any pics with the gauge out. I used a dremel with a sanding bit at the end and went to town. You need to focus more on the sides and the bottom. There is a ring that you can see from the back, grind that completely out and keep going. Keep trying to fit them after a little grinding a way. Eventually you will get there. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Nope, that is really inside the car, the only thing that lets you know the car is possibly modified along with the 4" tip ;P. So much for the stealth look. I use it for the shiftlight, received an awesome deal on it, and what can I say, I like rice and speed, I finally have a little to back it up!
