I have a 97 2g eclipse with a Fidanza flywheel and stage 2 exedy clutch. Just replaced the clutch last summer and barley had time to break it in before winter hit, had the master cylinder replaced earlier in the year this year, and just did the slave cylinder a week or two ago. Before I replaced the slave cylinder it randomly quit going into gear (the reasoning for replacing the slave). So replaced the slave bleed the clutch and it was still doing it, waited a day or so it was fine for about 15 min and back to the way it was before the replacement. So we adjusted the Master cylinder rod, got it back to normal but again after some light driving 10-15 miles it was back to doing it again. It will go into gear just fine with the car off so I know its a clutch related issue, any idea?

Extreme psi is $114

Yea I checked thanks for the info. I'm a college student so money is super tight right now but I also need the car fixed asap since im moving, so I guess I will have to shell out more cash, LOL.

It would really benefit you to save the extra $40 or so more than what you spent on the other one and get a legit OEM. Spend the $$, do it once, don't worry about it for a long time.

Well ill post when I get it put in and hope it solves the problem. Got my slave from the same company so I hope it doesn't go bad.

Put in the OEM master cylinder today, for the first few minutes is shifted perfect but by about 4 miles or so of driving it was at the point where when I pushed the clutch in while the car was in second at about 4,000rpm it wouldn't drop the rpm, they would slowly drop about 1 rpm per 2 seconds. I live 2 hours away from where my car is currently since I moved for college and its about $60 in gas to drive my truck back and forth each time. Need to figure this out ASAP.

So tried readjusting and no matter what way I turn the rod still no luck. If I can get it in gear there is a lot of chatter and it moves with the clutch to the floor and dies

New OEM slave too? Bled the lines properly?

Slave is a week old but centric not OEM, didn't know where to find an OEM slave at the time. Lines should have been bled fine, no air was coming out just fluid. Like I just said just got it in gear with the ebrake on, lots of chatter and it moves forward and dies, that's with the clutch to the floor so almost no engagement if any.

Did you try re adjusting the clutch travel after installing OEM master? If so, only thing I can think of is OEM slave and possibly flywheel is not machined to correct step.

Yep did that. It was running fine like I said then as I was driving down the road in third coming to a stop sign I down shifted to second, heard a clunk and it jumped a little bit, then it started not engaging at all. Flywheel is an Exedy and haven't replaced it since I got the car but the clutch is exedy stage 2, got it a year ago and have maybe 2000 miles on it since winter hit and I couldn't drive it.

Hmm, I have an exedy stage stage 2 as well but I have a pro light flywheel, not exedy. Did you check your tranny bolts? Could be possible some came loose and your tranny is slightly separated.

Nothing was fixing it so I took it to the shop and turns out my clutch was in pieces! Flywheel was destroyed and they had to check the tranny cause the clutch some how exploded into peices and they had to make sure no frags go the transmission and ruined but lucky it was fine. So bought a new fidanza light weight flywheel and act 2100 clutch kit and had that put in.

Yea deff a bad clutch thing same thing happened to my 95tsi weird tempermental disengaging issue had to start in gear wouldnt shift some times sometimes it's kinda work sometimes it wouldnt expected the clutch cuz the noise read this tore the tranny out sure as heck a million springs come rollin out of under the pressure plate when unbolted.... Hopefully this post can help some others out. If you aint loosin fluid got ur clutch adjusted right and ur clutch is still grabbin not disengaging you might wanna look into a new clutch
