**UPDATE!** new parts came in! It was definitely time to retire my old intake manifold. Managed to snag up with JMF drag intake off a buddy! Also, retiring the old 3 bar GM map sensor haha. 5 bar AEM! Stay tuned as I just placed the order for the last part I needed to build the new engine, pics will be coming soon! I want to just unload a massive amount of pictures and details once I have everything I need :)

Map sensor courtesy of Steven with YOUMADBRO gsx, RIP to one of my favorite 2g's. Part of it will live on with mine. However, I am very excited to actually be able to log more than 30psi now haha!

Engine assembly will be within about 2-3 weeks. Then its getting plopped right back into the car and I will be pulling the new car in for tear down! HOW EXCITING!

*ASSEMBLY TIME**...well almost

We start to assemble this bad boy and quickly realize we forgot oil squirter crush washers haha DANG IT! long story short it didn't matter we wouldn't have been able to assemble it anyways because rod bearing 3 and 4 clearances were too far off. So once they get back from the shop(later this week) will be actual assembly day!
And I will remember next time to take a bunch of pictures!

ITS ASSEMBLED!!!!!!!!!!
All that is left is to cut up the 2g motor mount, slap the water pump on and the rest of the timing stuff then its GO TIME!

Also, I sent my turbo to PTE for them to check everything over and while it was apart from the manifold I made a decision to ditch the Eaton MotorWorks manifold and .82 ar T3 housing. New setup will still be in the headlight but a much more appealing manifold, I have never been much of a fan of this manifold...

New housing should be here today - Divided T4 1.15 ar!

Plan is once the engine and trans are back in the car I will load it up into the trailer and bring it over to
KSR Performance. Kristian (KSR owner) will be doing my new twin scroll manifold and I AM SO EXCITED!!!

FIRE UP THE PARTS CANNON !

Today should be a good day! Today I will get my new oem water pump bolts, dip stick, dip stick tube, OFH gasket, 6 bolt Quarter Master flywheel, 6 bolt tensioner arm and 6 bolt timing cover! Also, I got my new turbine housing a few days ago it is going out tonight to get blasted and cleaned up!

Precision called me with the good news that no shavings went through the turbo *pheew* so they are re assembling with with a basic seal kit and re balancing. @goonie90gsx is coming over again this weekend and we are going to try to get the engine timed and back in the car along with pulling a trans apart and replacing the diff with my welded one!

I did manage to at least get some work done - until I realized I forgot water pump bolts.. I cut the 2g motor mount to fit where it would interfere with the 6 bolt water pump.

It is just about done! Timed, oil pan on, crank trigger installed correctly not backwards anymore(LOL), ran the harness for the kiggy crank trigger. I had some issues with trying to get the ring gear installed on the flywheel over the weekend so that will hold up further progress until that is done. A good friend of mine is bringing it to his work where that have a nice press that will make for an easy install of the ring gear. In the mean time I need to get a trans torn apart and weld the diff so I can have it all ready to go once the flywheel is done!
Also, my intake manifold just got out of powder this morning and mmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmm!

Finally made some real progress last night! After struggling with the clutch for far too long I finally got it on..the legs off the flywheel wouldn't let the pressure plate sit flush and the bolts continuously wanted to cross thread, thankfully managed to get it! Got my turbo back yesterday so I was able to throw on the new housing and of course the thread pitch is different so I couldn't bolt it together.. BUT! there was beer to help me through my struggles and I managed to get the motor back in the car after about 5 months! As long as everything goes to plan there should be a trans joining this party by saturday or sunday night.

Does anybody know what I'm supposed to do with the extra flywheel bolt haha

Damn man. Just read through this entire thread while bored at work. Incredible car! Especially considering you built it mostly yourself.
At first you said you wanted to go 2.0 because you naively built the 2.3. Well I'm trying to make my decision on which engine to build for my streetcar. What made you stay 2.3? Think you'd see better 1/4 mile times on 2.0?

First of all, thank you!
As for the 2.3 vs 2.0 the reason I kept the 2.3 is because it wasn't blown up yet haha. I am extremely excited for the 2.0 and to be able to rev out to the moon again whereas with the 2.3 I was nervous to rev passed 8,000 RPM meanwhile the turbo is still making great power. 2.3 was great on smaller turbos when this was my daily driver but when it crossed over into "race car mode" the 2.0 will be a much more beneficial option.

Ok thanks! Must have missed the part where you said the next engine was a 2.0. Really related to that "18 years old, built a 2.3" part because I'm 19 and trying to figure out my engine s###. What RPM are you limiting on the 2.0?

Definitely keeping an eye on this build... I'm very curious to see how that 6466 Twin scroll spools with a 2.3.

I'm planning on going with a Gen2 GTX3582R in a T4 twin scroll housing or maybe a 6266 in the same housing... We'll see. Your build thread will help me decide.

Good luck!
