I just installed my avcr in my 98 talon awd. It had been in my 1g that is not running so I read up on installing it in my 2g. Well, all went well untill I was driving and my cel lite came on. Upon checking the code it was 1104. This is a malfunction in the boost control solenoid. Basically I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I have since reconnected the solenoid but have not driven the car yet. Is this normal? I did not have this problem in my 1g. I guess that it is just that the obdII computer being better and faster. Anyway, any insight would be appreciated. Learning a lot about this 2g every day. Thanks. :talon:

It could be that your BCS is bad. I do have mine that i don't use anymore, if you need one. I would say reset it and see if you get that code again. Its not going to hurt your car or anything in the mean time.

Pretty sure unplugging the BCS on a 2g will throw a CEL, while it won't on a 1g. Its normally to leave the BCS electrically plugged in on a 2g while disconnecting the pressure ports & capping them off to prevent dirt, etc from getting in. If you plug the harness back in & reset the code you'll more then likely be fine.
