24 Hour test drive???

I have no clue what happed but anyhow..

I saw a commercial that GM which includes GMC, Chevy, Hummr, Saab, Caddy, etc.. Is now going to be offering a 24 test drive. Its nice to see that they realize that if we are going to buy a car that we are more than likley going to keep for a few years, that it takes more than a 10 minute test drive to make an informed decision. I hope the aother auto makers follow suite.

, im sure it had a clause in it that stated, it excludes the corvette, and any other high top of the line pricey item they might make like say the H2.

i got to test drive a 95 Honda Prelude back in '98 from the honda dealership for days =)

there is a local dealership called Aristocrat Motors (Porsche, BMW, Benz, Jag, etc) and they offer 24hr test drives.

I am wondering how much security deposit should you put to take out the car for a 24-hrs spin? 200%? What if it gets "stolen"?

I've had a few vehicles for 24 hours. And paid $0 for it. I had one vehicle for 4 days. Placed over 1k miles on it. No money out of my pocket. Had another vehicle for 24 hrs and placed a little over 100 miles on it.

I work at a honda-gm dealership and we now have the 24 hour test drives... it's stupid because if people put alot of miles on the car and then don't buy it we are losing money.

I've done the 24-hour thing, but with used vehicles. I've insisted that my mechanic needed to take a look at it before I could even consider it. No money out of pocket on my part.

Just talk to the dealer. If you're serious about making a purchase with them and they know it, they'll usually bend over backwards in areas that don't cost them anything.
