Ok, I've been doing dome serious thinking ahead. But what I'm wondering, is a 20G a good turbo for FWD. It seems like it would have enough lag to get a decent launch without annihilating your tires. What are you guys experiences or thoughts?

Basically, the larger the turbo, the better it is for FWD as I've found on my car, and customer cars. Of course, it will spin, but if you compare a T25 FWD, and a 20g FWD, the T25 will have more spin, and be slower.

It's all about power delivery.

Well, to be honest, i want to be able to run a street tire and am not sure about the LSD. I just want to do ONE turbo upgrade. As far as 1/4, a low 13, I'm not delusional, I know the FWD require quite a bit of traction to run anything under a 13. I just want a turbo that I'll be happy with, both on the highway and on the street. And given the fact I've got a Vert, I dont plan on taking it to the track much at all. Just don't want to peel out everytime I hit the throttle.

I think with a 20G your goal is very capable. But not spining out eveytime you hit full boost is another thing. With all the supporting mods and a 20G well tuned I think you could hit low 13's no problem, as long as you can find a way to get a little traction.

I would definatly reccomend a FMIC. There is no way a sidemount is going to cool 20psi coming from a 20G. You could probably get away with a smally Greedy FMIC, I think they only run about $700.

Don't put a small Greddy on 20G car. If you are going 20G, do it right and get a real FMIC.

Also, I HIGHLY recommend at least the BM or Phantom Grip LSD and halfshaft mod.

You can get away with getting a Supra sidemount, if you want to save some money. It can support around 400whp.

I was thinking budget wise, You won't need any lager of an intercooler to get low 13's with a 20G. Granted it would help but isn't neccesary. With good tuning the right mods and a SMIC you could hit low 13's with a 20G.

With a LSD/Quaiffe you can run high 12s (good driver) on a 16G for FWD. If you are gonna spend the extra cash to get a 20G and supporting mods, why skimp on the FMIC and go small Greddy FMIC? Makes no sense to me.

If you really want a small Greddy, I'll sell you mine for $700 shipped. I'd rather have a bigger, more efficient FMIC on my car now as I have changed plans for her.

What about the clutch too man. The stocker will slip more than the tires will if you don't upgrad that thing with a 20G. Oh and for the tires, they do make DOT app. street drag slicks. that are reasonably priced:thumb:

I know this is a little off topic but are the guys who are saying their hitting 13's with the 14b pretty much talking smack then?

What do you mean? I ran a 13.7 with a stock downpipe and cat and stock clutch. And I'm not talking "smack".:D

More like low 12's... Of course with a set of slicks.
