2 Questions

There isn't any rules to look at to answer my first question and that is this;


Is this forum for just car related photoshop artwork or is it for anything created in photoshop?


My second question is concerning the max image limit.

I was wondering why it was set so mall 700x700 pixels isn't very big, well unless your using a screen resolution around 800x600..

I would be more then willing to lend my photoshop pen skills to chop cars and such things, but in my experience the bigger the picture, usually means the better of quality (most of the time) and the bigger the picture the easier it is to chop..

I'm not sure how you guys go about chopping your photos but i would imagine you do it the right way with the pen tool, and working with it is always better on a larger scale.

Just my own personal opinion.

I imagine it's geared mainly towards automotive 'chops, but I'm not to say you can't post something completely badass that's not.

Max image limit is for those browsing on slower connections, and/or those with smaller screen resolutions. This makes it easier for everyone to browse the forum. Nobody is stopping you from hosting your image in it's full resolution, and posting a link to the image, though.

That's what I do - I resize a version of my image to display on the board, and code it as a link to the full-scale image. Works like a charm.

I agree as well with you, the larger the better. More detail is always welcome with photochopping.

Don't know why 700x700 is the limit, but it is a sticky - http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187743

It probably has to do with slow download speeds for people who are on dial up and server space.

Yeah, i guess. I just duno.

For me 700x700 is small, although im use to working in big scale, like space art you work on a planet thats over 3000x3000 pixels .

Or in terragen you would use somewhere around 2Kx2K pixel or bigger.


Those are the rules though, what are ya gonna do?



I'll just post a new thread with a link to some of my older work, then a higher member or staff can decide weather or not non-car related things are allowed, even though its not posted anywhere.. Some may like it, just have to see.

It has to do with server load, and the fact that there are still, somewhere, people actually using -gaaak- 56K telephone modems.
This is a DSM site, and we try to keep the focus primarily on DSMs. The Hangout is geared to let that slide, and to some extent we let this forum also wander. It's a matter of balance, and of course, the vagaries and capriciousness of a certain Moderator. Sealed guesses as to that identity may be submitted for the final drawing, after which the Grand Prize may be awarded. Contestants may expect a superb and expensive DSM item. They may also expect a video of my gymnastic skills, but this would only yield disappointment twofold.

Actually, the "gymnastics" are just me trying to get back up after having foolishly over-centered. It's a hideous spectacle.
