1st break down ever...I hate it!

Hey guys, well I was just sitting at a red light and my car stalled. So i started to smell something, like it was burning right there. I checked the ecu and it was the ecu. A little part in the ecu fried. To make a long story short, I just replaced it today with a used one that matches up with all the numbers. Now when I start it, it will stay on. Unlike before, it would shut off, but now my car idles like a dragster. It's idling rough and while the car is idling, black smoke is comming out of the exhuast. So therefore it would be running rich. I need to know if anyone can please leapd me to a problem as to what is causing my car to run like this. thanks for any help.

If the ecu is from diffrent years, your mas would not be working right.

He claims its from a 90 and thats the year of my car. But then again that sounds right what you are saying because of the fact my car is running rich. Would my car running to rich cause it to idle like that?

Pull codes,if your mas is bad it should show up. I had a prob were I was running way to rich and every thing was fine. I just tore the car apart, and put it back together and it was fine after that.

Well thats the last thing i would ever do is tear my car apart. I called up my friend he said it sounds like the car is missing and that the ecu burning up could of caused many things to burn out or something like that. Such as my coil pack,cam angle sensor etc.

Ok ok i found out the problem the ecu the guy sent me was burned up like mine. So the guy tride to screw me saying he wont send me my money back so therefore i called up the credit card company and now im sending this peice of shit back pluss a full refund of my money
