1gen and 2gen head...

ok...
i've done search around and hear both...
1. 1gen head flows better than 2gen
and also heard,
2. 2gen head flows better than 1gen

i just wanted to get that straight.

also... is there any way you can tell if you have a 1gen or 2gen head by looking at a specific anything? i had a motor swap to a 6bolt, but i beleive i still have a 2gen head, but not completely sure. thanks for any help.

where is the CAS located on the 1gen head and the 2gen head?

CAS aint it - if you got a 97+ head the holes will be there for a 1g style CAS. at that point ya gota look at the intake cam - if its threded on the end its prob a 97+ head -- if not prob a 1g head

well all the colors of the CAS caps are different for each year/group, this is what I meant to say. You can tell by the intake port size, both cas studs have threads on the end so that doesn't help(unless you were talking about the back of the cam gear then disregard that) You can tell by a lot of things that bolt to the head. If its completely bare then cam measurement, measuring bore is the way...
