i recently had someone replace my tranny in my 92 tsi awd and they installed a 90 tranny with 90 t case. 20 miles later the t case seized and caused the rear end to snap and axle. I dont no if the person forgot to fill it, or if it had a bad leak, or something. So i got another known good t case, replaced the seal and had it installed. We noticed after we drove it and it sat over night there was a 4 inch spot on the ground of fluid from the t case. The installer said he may have over filled it and thats why the spot was there, so he drained it and re filled it properly, now after i drive the car and let it sit for a day i notice either a half dollar or 3 inch sized spot under the t case and a drip right were it meets the u joint. My question is would this probably be due to a bad yolk? Since the t case is good with a good seal im guessing it has something to do with the yolk or u-joint, since my car has already had the recall, is there a fix for this or should i bring it to a dealer and have them do it again, any idea of what it will cost?>

There is a recall for this. Contact Chrysler with your VIN and ask them to see if the recall has been performed for your call. If not, they are obligated to replace the T-case and all damage cased by the failure related to the recall.

Ok it looks like its dripping from the u joint after the t case, right in the middle, its whiped across the exhuast too, and dripping off the exhuast, unfortunitly i have a 90 tranny in my 92 talon so if i get the recall done, they prob wont do it because technically the rong t case and tranny are on the car

It could be a few things. The seal could just be bad on the t-case. The bearings for the tail shaft in the t-case could be bad, allowing the shaft to wobble and not seal.

Or it could be the driveshaft yoke.

I was having the same issue with my car, went through 3 different transfercases until I finally decided screw it and got the transfer case recall kit (the stuff pictured). After swapping in the new bits no more leak.

I just recently swapped mine because it wouldn't stop leaking, I am fortunate enough that my T-case didnt seize up, but it does not take very long to swap them out. Plus there is a how-to on VFAQ on how to swap them out.
