I am giving it a try, I have not seen much in relocation of the cruise control so I'm giving a try while my motors is out here is what I have so far . I think it should work.

Just be make sure that the cables are not kinked, pinched, or turn too sharply anywhere. Cables don't like tight turns. Hope it works for you though, good luck.

Looks like that would work but is there a sharp kink at the very end of the cable or am I not seeing it right?

They turns on the cable are a little tight but I have slid the cables in and out and they move smoothly and freely so I don't not think that will be an issue . Or I hope not LOL.

If you absolutely have to have a sharp bend you should modify the cable and install a rigid elbow in it similar to what some bicycles have on their control cables. That way you will be sure that it won't bind.
