I need to install the turbine housing and take some pics, but it's the XR71-64S with 0.64 hotside.

Yeah, it's purely for street use. Most people would opt for the 0.82 housing but it lags about 400rpm and make more power around 8k according to Robert Young. When I dyno it I'm just going to tell them to hit 600 and stop there.I bet that thing will be a blast on the street
Thanks for taking a look. Huge updates coming as the new parts arrive.Sooo what’s in the Xona box
Thanks my man. I've always loved these cars so there's nothing else I'd rather build.Vegas I just gotta say man I think you’r a true dsm’er. You took a car that only a mother could love, and thru hard work and dedication turned it into truly a NICE car, I don’t know exactly what your ultimate dream or vision for your ride is, but I just wanna say I think you have a nice well rounded street car that you should be proud of, I know I would be, cheers brotha
These photos were taken with an iPhone 11. The cameras on these phones are incredible. The o2 housing has two bungs for wideband sensors and the big ribbed fitting is for the TIAL wastegate; it's a recirculated housing. Thanks for the really good pics, wow! Are those cell phone pics, or other camera type?
Even with a good look at the O2 housing here, I'm still guessing at what the extra fitting is for - the one that has like ribs on the outside.
Coating looks real nice. And the way FP finishes center section, it's almost too nice to put on a car. I would just leave it on my coffee table in the living room for a while. The compressor housing flange surface and printing on it, wow too.
Correct. The ribbed bung is for extra cooling with a wideband sensor.Yeah, I've probably said it before but I wish all the pics older than about 2-3 years ago could be retaken with modern cameras.
So the 2 sensor bungs on the O2 housing, one ribbed and one not - are the ribs for cooling? I mean, if that's what they are supposed to do, you could put a wide band in that one because wideband sensors like to run a little cooler than a regular narrow band, right? You could put the stock OEM narrow band in the one with no ribs.
This would be handy for anybody who hasn't already added a wideband bung onto their downpipe. Which is what I did because I didn't want to do narrow band simulation with the wideband. I wanted both sensors.
Or is it for some other reason?
Thanks man. I moved on from that job a long time ago and am much happier.Amazing build thread. Awesome pictures, much humor and no bashing = the best, long, thorough thread I've come across here, and I have read many. From an 18g, to another, to another, etc turbo. Man, I wish I had the money to do that. You say you hate the job, but I love mine and am always broke, . You have a great car and your work has become a value to us all.
Yeah, SPAL fans are such high quality and you have so many options. It's a TIGHT fit, and I had to trim some of the ribs of the fans but you gotta do what you gotta do. This is all a final form project. In other words, I don't plan on changing this setup unless things don't work they way I want.Ok, there we go with 2 good sized fans on the front and a fair amount of space aft of the radiator.
Spal VA10-AP50/C-25S - 12 inch pusher fans.
I like it that Spal has nice dimensioned drawings for these fans. You can figure out the fit, go or no-go, just from their drawings pretty much.
You could probably fit a 12 inch puller fan on the back side passenger side of the radiator? If you needed it.
Still putting it back together. With a 1yo it has been hard to find consistent time to work on it.It is looking great. Are you back to driving it yet or still buttoning up?
