Sorry if you guys have heard this before, but i searched around and could not get a definative answer. I have a 91 talon tsi fwd with a few mods. Straight pipe from stock downpipe to stock muffler, horn from air cannister removed, and silencer removed from air can as well. I want to remove the restrictor from the bcs, BUT i dont want any negative effects like boost creep oranything else. The car only has 73,00 miles on it and i want to preserve the engine and components. Just looking to a few extra ponies but i am not interested in getting a mbs or anything else. So, can i do it without any negative effects or without getting any extra components to compliment it.

thanks

Yes you'll be fine doing the BCS mod. If you're careful when removing the little plastic restriction then you'll be able to put it back in if needed. Anyways make your next mod a boost gauge at least.

*chuckle*

You've got to be kidding me.

Boost creep has more to do with the wastegate flapper being too small to divert enough exhaust gas quickly. It has much less to do with the BCS restrictor. Even with BCS stock you can still experience boost creep.

Remove the restriction and get yourself a better o2 housing or an o2 elim downpipe. Or, install a bigger flapper (no easy task from what I've read). Or, get a different turbo with a properly matched wastegate flapper.

BCS restictor removal got me 2.5 psi. Definate register on the assometer, for me at least. I was running 13psi with just a k&n and intercooler piping plus all the free mods.
