1G Automatic Overdrive diagnostics

Looking for someone who has some experience with the 1G AWD automatics.

1. Does the 1G TCU output error codes like the 2G's can?

2. If so, how do I access those?

3. If not, how would you diagnose the following:

91 AWD GSX. 1-3 gears work great. Shifts solid. Flip the switch to allow it to use the OD and it neutrals out. No go. Turn it off and zip I'm off.

4. Is the above condition typical for a OD clutch pack that is bad?

5. Anyone had this condition and changed the clutch pack and it solved the condition?

6. or What did solve this condition?

7. Which connector on the tranny harness is for the OD? We had to splice a connector on it before we installed it. Just want to be sure we didn't mess something up there.

It sure sounds as if you smoked your end clutches.

I've seen this problem successfully fixed many times by just rebuilding the end clutch.

Keep in mind that when the clutches go, it usually contaminates the rest of the trans, so although it works most of the time, the end clutch repair is not really the "textbook" fix for the trans.

Does the end clutch kit replace the clutches for all gears or just the O/D?

Sometime back you had an end clutch kit/shift kit available for under $150? Do you still offer that?

Do you have a kits available for a 91 AWD and a 95 TSi (FWD)?

The end clutch kit is only a fix for overdrive.

One kit fits all of the AWD and FWD Turbo units and the N/A FWD Mitsubishi built transmissions- W4A33, F4A33, F4A21, 22, etc.
