Does anybody know the answer to this?

Ive seen alot of people saying that the 3G and 4G are Killing Mitsubishi. I'd like to see sales figures for each year from 89-04 if possible. Every DSM'r says the 3G sucks (I know it does!!) But every business man says that the 2G cars with all the crankwalk bullshit killed it. Iam banking with the crankwalk theory, and I betcha thay sell more 3Gs than 2Gs.

The 3gs are cheaper, liked more by the general public(looks), and seem to be more advertised.

As for the 2gs, if the crankwalk killed them, than there would most likly be a recall. If the problem was that bad, than not recalling would kill mitsubishi's creditibility and be a horrible business moe.

But that is just my opinion.
 
From a business standpoint, they say the 90-99 cars were a loss for mitsu/mopar. So if they sell more 3gs and eventually more 4gs...its better for them. Like someone said before, even if the new 4g was a killer looking retro 1g/2g with the EVO motor and an even bigger turbo...only 20% of the people who love it will actually go into the dealership and buy one new. The rest of the people will be scouring the auto trader for a used one in 2-12 years . Not a big help to Mitsu's financial distress. And even if it was...only 7% would buy it because they're "expensive to buy parts for" "unreliable" "the engines blow up" "the T-cases lock up" and so on...If you want a cool car, I see no problem with a FP3065, 6-bolt equipped 97-98 Tsi AWD or 97-99 GSX. Or a 1g if your more for go than show.
let the dead be....think of the 64-71 Pontiac GTO's, killer cars. How do you think those enthusiasts felt when they threw the GTO badge on the 80s Lemans (similar to a K-car) or even the new failure Monaro based GTO.
They do stupid shit like that because its all about $$$ and selling cars. Not us.
