I bought this 99 GSX in 2013. It was from Texas so very little rust on it.
A few mods, Hx-35, Short Route intercooler..
Kept it this way for awhile but didn’t really drive it much due to deployments and never having time to work on it. Been sitting in my garage for years never working on it.

Decided I didn’t want to deal with Power steering, ABS and A/C anymore.
Power steering I will miss though, looking to add an Electric option for that along with A/C in the future.

Archer Fabrications hooked me up with a very nice T3 Manifold with a dump tube.
An amazing work of art. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a manifold. So much dedication to his work, it really shows.

Switched from the HX-35 to a HX-40 with a billet wheel that I got off the classifieds here.

Had to switch radiator setups. Went with a VW golf radiator and mounted it under the radiator support, perfect fit.

Installed the COP

It’s slowly coming along, in the process of installing a catch can with 10AN lines

While waiting for some fittings for the catch can I decided to work on the Evo X Brembos I picked up. A little rough on the paint but they work just fine.
Ordered some brackets from a member on here, unfortunately these are not direct bolt on’s for Evo X brembos. EVO X brembos require bigger bolts, I believe they were M14 x1.5. The brackets require M12 bolts, they also don’t fit the spacers that came with the kit so I had to make my own.
After some fab work and a little trial and error and lots of grinding, I got them to bolt up nicely. Now they just need a new coat of paint.

Along with the brembos I needed some new wheels to go with it.

Car looks good.

What are the wheel/tire specs?

92 or 93 fuel?

I bet its a fight to keep your engine temps in range? You running a single puller slim fan?

Unfortunalty all we have here is 91. Temps actually are not an issue. There steady around 190-200.
Running a single puller fan.

If you have not decided what to go with yet, I highly recommend the FEAL's, you can call them up and tell them what you will be doing with the car and you will get a recommendation on spring rates, those will make that wheel gap disappear real quick like..

I run those coilovers on my 1G and love them.. Very nice build so far, you have just gained another follower.. :thumb:

Appreciate the advice! I’ve heard nothing but good things about FEAL’s. I’ll be giving them a call for sure

SEPTEMBER 2018

I decided to finally tear into the interior of the car. It’s never been the cleanest so I wanted to fix that.

Pulled the dash out and re-ran the OHM Fusebox. Looks much better than dangling in the glove box.
Deleted heater core as well.

Years of oil stains really did a number on the carpet, pulled and gave it a wash, it cleaned up pretty well.
