That car needs some work done to it. The strut tower has some rust on it that will have to be repaired but I am sure you know that already. Before you jump into purchasing this vehicle make sure you check the whole car so you know what you are getting yourself into. If I were you start off by doing a compression test which should tell you if the motor is healthy. Also check for spark and fuel which could be one of the reasons why it starts but then shuts off.

these is info i was giving, wanted $700 went down to $300 today due to shes behind in bills to keep her kia are she looses it. i have more pics of the car.

I finally took the pics you want. It needs swept out but the interior is in great shape except it need covers for the air bags. They were deployed when my daughter bought it. I had them glued but it’s came apart. So the air bags do NOT work. I forgot to take a pic of the headliner & the hatch back area. Both are in good shape and the hatch has a panel that looks like a lid behind the back seats to hide your things stored in the hatch. The car had been in a small wreck when my daughter bought it for her 1st car at 16 years old in 2005. We fixed it and she drove it until 2010. I bought it from her and drove it until May of 2018 when I parked it. My husband said he thinks the only thing wrong is the Turbo. It will be fine one minute then fall on its face... lose power. A few days later drive like nothings wrong.

thats what was told to me so turbo wouldnt make the car turn off then? more of a fuel issue are so... Can i check spark with these tool? below pic are do i have to have the 2nd pic

For the price it's a project I'd buy probably.

Sounds like maybe the PTU, coil pack or a fuel issue. Hell it could be wiring. The turbo should have zero effect on the car running for short periods, unless it's got a huge hole in it somewhere.

If you want a straight up project, it could be alright, but I'd plan on going through EVERYTHING.

other worrying factors are the accident, does it have a rebuilt or salvage title? If not, were the repairs done correctly? The mileage is quite high.

I also agree that it sounds like a fuel issue.

For the price it may make a good project, but as ThunderChild said you would really want/need to go through everything.

What I have learned from picking up a few project DSMs over the years is that you never account for the little things on a 25+ year old car. Things like brakes, vacuum hoses, sensors and even things like bolts and clips after this much time basically turn to dust or become brittle and fall apart. These are all things you will need to replace or repair to get the car in a solid running condition. Based on the condition of the bay Id venture to guess the rest of the car needs some major TLC. Know what you want and if the car meets that then pick it up, if not move on, there will be others I assure you.

i know its old car and i im good with motors and getting things to run iv never owned a turbo car and was asking if it was worth it are not... as long as i dont have to replace motor i be okay LOL. yes car has rust but its in Indiana they get lot snow and have different mixer put down over time messes your car up im from Georgia so ya

After seeing pics, that is purely a parts car IMHO, it needs some major inspection for other rust before I'd buy it. $300 is great for parts, so if you buy that and had a good shell the work with I'd say do it. Otherwise that thing looks like it's about ready for scrap unless you want to sink a TON of body work into it.

Edit: I now see the rear hatch was actually damaged, not rusted out, but I'm still leery with the strut towers and the fact it's been sitting so long with some decently major issues. Still a parts car in my mind unless you want to spend a good chunk of time and money on it.

That actually makes me feel sad, buy the ol' girl and bring it back to road worthy is my vote, she deserves better than that.

THANKS GUYS i didnt buy it good thing to someone else did though,, info from saturday,

Yes I’m sorry but could wait any longer. I missed the deadline on my Kia but paid it online yesterday. I just pray they don’t catch it that I was 1 day past the deadline!! Guess we’ll know if I wake up and my Kia has been towed through the night.
Not sure you would want it now anyway. We finally started it on Saturday for a guy to see it. After it ran for about 15 minutes it started ticking the alarm at once it was knocking so loud! The motor is blown up!

I’m so glad it did it before someone bought it though! They would have thought I set them up or lied! I posted that it blew up but the guy bought it anyway without even coming to see it other than the pics I posted. He paid yesterday and we took him the title & keys. He is going to pick it up on Wednesday. If he decides not to fix it and put it up for sale I get first chance to buy it so I’ll keep you posted!
Sorry and thanks for trying!
