Very nice! I haven't been down there in a couple years, but they have a great program there. Great group of guys that run it.

I haven't had mine out to a rallycross event since STPR '11... missing it
 
I started the DC RallyX program back in 2000. Have codriven a bunch of STPRs, only once in a Mitsu.

Any idea what kind of power the car makes?

Also, that's quite a bit for the DMS suspension. Very nice build.
 
This is an awesome journal and an awesome thing you are doing for your friend. Your journal has made me lean towards a rally build on my car as it is in rare stock form and I can go any direction with it.

If its the same car as your avatar photo, I remember you from STPR 11 :D Particularly your run at the end on the Super Special stage at the Fairgrounds :D :D :D
 
Im planning on starting a rally car build soon and this car gives me a lot of inspiration its probably one of my favorite DSMs.

Now I have a few questions first whats the thickness of youre skidplate?

Secound whats the deal with the radiator cap that really caught my eye?

Third are those stock mudflaps?

What kind of tires are you running?

Whats weight of car with out driver?

Also what kind of power and what is youre turbo setup?

Skidplate. 1/4 inch aluminum.

That cap has been replaced. Lots has changed in the engine compartment since those pics.

Yes, stock mudflaps.

Michelin gravel rally tires for rally stuff.

Don't know how much it weighs, maybe find out this weekend.

300 WHP on 16G Evo3. You don't want a honking BIG turbo for rally, just one that spools fast.

So, I am entered in a time trail race this weekend. Car is now on 17 inch wheels and set up for the track. Pics and if they are weighing cars at tech, the weight next week.
